Seems like you should be able to pick the "power" of the charger via software... so you could turn it up or down based on the phone you're running.

The center console does have HVAC to it for the rear vents, so it also seems like a small port run to the phone charger would have been possible as well.
I'd love the ability to simply disable the charger all together

This is really weird, but my pixel 6 has no issue and it is not nearly as nice as an iPhone 15. I did notice that it does better with no case also. It just seems odd how inconsistent the CT phone charger is

I’m starting to think the issue is with the IPhone 15. I just bought a Lincoln Navigator and my phone is also turning into a portable heating system when being charged on the wireless mat within the center console.

It's absolutely an issue with the iPhones that have Magsafe. Older iPhones or Androids are much happier.

Apple decided to move the charging target, and if you try a Magsafe phone on a standup charger, you'll have problems as well.

Tesla Cybertruck Phone Charging - iPhone 15 getting super hot IMG_5666

I thought this solution was interesting. Not only did my Iphone 15 not overheat but it has an AC hole/vent directly above it that I could feel cool air coming out of because apparently this must be an industry issue. This was a VW rental.

Really wish Tesla would be put more thought into something that is such an important element for our lives these days.

I have a 2023 Ford F350 and my iPhone doesn’t get hot like Tesla… just slightly warm. It works fine in my F350.

I’ll be getting an iPhone 16 Pro Max (or Ultra? Rumors are mixed, haha!!) next month. Yes, I’m one of those weirdos that upgrade every year.

I’ll report back if there’s any improvement!!

I took my Iphone 15 out of the case and it doesn't seem to get as hot and put it back in the case when I leave the vehicle
