I had a PCS replacement at 12000 miles last September. Foundation AWD Vin 0013xx. Only real issue I have had with the truck which now has 18000 miles on it.

Looking at my invoice it was replaced with part 48AMP(1777777-12-E) which is a different part number than others on here.

Does that mean I got the original part which will be prone to failing again?
Original was probably ‘A’. You got revision ‘E’. They’re now installing revision ‘G’. It doesn’t necessarily mean G is ‘better’ than ‘E‘. Sometimes revisions are supplier changes, or they found a less expensive way to make it, etc.

I wonder if there is a way to tell what’s on the truck now without accessing the part itself?

Hmm I notice some folks are getting the harness replaced as well, they didn't do this on mine. I wonder why.
It's probably from a Dec 8th service bulletin.

On certain Cybertruck vehicles, the AC junction box to fast charge contactor HV harness might have a poor crimp connection, which may cause increased resistance and localized heating in the harness. If the ancillary cover is removed for other procedures, replace the AC junction box to fast charge contactor HV harness with version -J or later.

Curious, what was your ~vin range?

Below are the vin ranges i've picked up from other posts on PCS failures. They are saying its only a selective VIN range but they don't know what the range is.

05xxx
07xxx
11xxx
41xxx
49xxx

also if anyone else has a vin to add please speak up. This might help with some pushback.
I've had my PCS replaced recently. My VIN is 088xx.
FS AWD picked up April 2024.

L2 is also how the vast majority charge. L1 is almost useless and supercharging is rare even among those who get it free
I strictly charge via 110v but the truck isn’t my daily driver. Probably a big thermal load difference between 24amp and 48amp charging.

How many miles do you get per 24hrs
I don’t pay attention. When I plug it in it almost always says 24hours+. I’ll come back to it in a couple days and it’ll be at 80%. It’s parked in a metal garage so no app connectivity. One time I plugged into a 24 amp charger and was blown away with the speed! There is a free high speed charge point in my town so I top off there often before the ole 110 trickle charge.

110V charging is roughly 80–85% efficient, compared to 90–97% for 240V, meaning 15–20% or more of the energy is lost to overhead.

Whatever floats your boat.

Yesterday, my next door neighbors had PCS failure on their 2024 Foundation AWD. Tesla sent a flatbed tow truck to their home to pick up the Cybertruck.

I told them not to worry, it would be fixed and good-to-do again.

Does anyone know what is the average time to repair?

Thanks,

I was at SC for my Y and asked about my truck. Was told PCS failure was not an IF, but WHEN.
interesting. So they think every single one built in 2024 will fail? That's a lot of repairs. I would think they would have to do a recall if that's the case.
