I hope this hits recall status. Even though I already went through it and had it fixed I'm not convinced that it's not going to happen again especially when I'm out of warranty.

Im a 19xxx vin with 8k miles and a PCS failure. I was having issues charging from the grid last few months stopping randomly and unable to restart it again. It finally posted an alert for the PCS. Not driving it until my service appointment. It can happen anytime really, tell tale signs are charging issues and unable to resume. Never really noticed issues because I rarely charge from the grid using my solar most of the time.
You can drive it straight to the service center and not wait for the appointment. They will take you in immediately and give you a loaner for this type of alert. My PCS went out last Thursday and the appointment was like 2 weeks away but I drove it straight there from work and they gave me a loaner CT

Unfortunately, I am two hours away from SC and the NC SCs are NOT easy to deal with. They are very stingy with loaners and put a 100 mile limit on driving them (I live 110 miles away). I envy y'all with good SCs.

I think the SC’s in NC used to be an issue but seem better now. When my PCS failed last month and I was towed into Charlotte they loaned me a Cyberbeast. I had it for 18 days waiting on parts. I put way more than 100 miles on it.

My PCS failed the very first time I used a Supercharger. Dec '14. I called Tesla, they logged in and bricked the truck. Towed to Tesla.

Wow! That is a wild amount of time to wait on a part isn't it? Do they just not evenly distribute parts around the country or they have been ramping up production of this PCS part in the past few weeks. I stated my story over in one of the other threads. But mine went out last Friday night and I scheduled the first available service for Council Bluffs, IA (I'm in Omaha) and it was April 6th. Contacted them yesterday morning and they had me come in and got me a loaner. Said the part would arrive this morning and they should have the work done today or tomorrow.

I guess if you factor weekends it was “only” 12 business days and they were also shut down from a snow/ice storm for a couple of days but, yeah, even 10 days was surprisingly long. They replaced the “high voltage harness-ACJunction box” and the “ancillary device cluster assembly” as well as the PCS so not sure which part they were waiting on.

Charlotte always gives me a loaner. Almost always either a CB or a Model S Plaid.

Raleigh is NOTHING like that. We've owned 5 Tesla's and of course had SC visits with all of them. Raleigh is horrible to deal with and it's the closest to me, but still 2 hours away.

Noticed my charge was limited to 24A and sure enough, after getting into Service Mode, PCS2 has failed. I have an appointment with Tesla for repair in a couple weeks, but one question I have is: will they replace both or just the failed one?

This is important for me as I tow very often and like this weekend, was in an area where only Level 2 3rd party chargers were available to me. I manage only 3 miles of range per mile driven when towing, so there were some harrowing moments. We luckily managed this weekend, but if they do not replace both and I have to stress over when the other will fail, I may just sell the thing - my livelihood is more important.

FYI - 33,734 miles and 20000 VIN; however, mine is not under the "official" recall.
There is no official or unofficial recall. My truck is at the SC right now. I asked the manager straight up, and also emailed Tesla. Both said no.

Official public one that makes it so everyone can get their PCS replaced. No
Internal communication letting SC know the issue and to not fight people. Yes

For your second note. I think they only don’t fight you if you’re under 50k miles. Otherwise people just toast that are paying up to 7k to get it replaced.

Based on the petition this guy started, it looks like he was actually refunded the money he spent out to replace this outside of the basic warranty

I’m not a pitchfork kind of guy, but this is so insanely clearly something they need to formally address with owners of 2024 and 2025s (2026 added coverage for this)

I have yet to see a non failed PCS replacement done proactively. Those that have talked about how they gave donuts and other gifts to service center never provided any invoice or proof that it was done. Also disappeared into the web....

Invoice or it didn't happen.
