Best thing about the $59k price is that I can roll some negative equity into the truck and still be under the $69k price it’s at now so I shouldn’t be underwater.

I really don't like the wheels and tires. They just don't fit the truck. Good thing they are easily changed. Makes it look cheap to me.

I prefer the 18’s as well — hopefully the taller sidewalls help soften the ride a bit and make up for the lack of air suspension.
The AWD has fully automatic and adjustable dampeners, just like the premium - just not height adjustability - ride reports report the same great ride. :)

I had both a 2018 Suburban with air ride and a 2024 Suburban with adaptive suspension. The 2018 felt like gliding over water. The 2024 still rode well, just not quite at true air ride level. Could I live with adaptive on the AWD CT? Absolutely. The overall Tesla experience still outweighs any ICE vehicle for me.

The suspension has been called stiffer and bouncier on all reviews I've seen comparing the RWD vs the Premium AWD. That makes sense as one doesn't have adjustable air suspension.

With the recall of all (apparently there are 173) of the RWD units due to 18" wheel/caliper issues I'd make sure thes new DM's with 18" wheels are not the same ones as on the RWD units. An anti Tesla Cybertruck thread on redit lit up like a Xmas tree with " wheels are falling off the Cybertruck" FUD nonsense.

Apparently the recall is accurate and the wheels are susceptible to fracture if driven hard. It was more shocking to learn there were only 173 of the RWD units sold and mentioned in the NHTSA recall notice. If I had a new $59K or $69K DM unit with the 18's, I'd want to be aware of this.

I didn't want to reference the Redit sight because it is such a POS. A Google AI search returned this;

Tesla is recalling all 173 rear-wheel drive (RWD) Cybertrucks sold due to a defect that can cause the brake rotor to crack, leading to potential wheel detachment. This recall, which affects 2024 models equipped with 18-inch steel wheels, requires 0.5.2 a free replacement of the rear brake rotors, hubs, and lug nuts. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Recall Key Details:
  • Units Affected: All 173 RWD Cybertrucks produced, 0.5.8 highlighting low sales of the now-discontinued, cheaper model, 0.5.1.
  • The Problem: Brake rotor stud holes may crack, allowing wheel studs to separate from the hub.
  • Risk: The wheel may loosen or detach, creating a safety hazard.
  • Remedy: Tesla service will replace the affected parts at no cost to the owner.
  • Notifications: Owner notification letters were sent out by late May/early June 2026. [1, 2, 3]
No accidents, injuries, or fatalities have been reported as a result of this issue, 0.5.6 0.5.10. [1, 2, 3]

That's not how I interpreted the recall. The wheels are not the problem, it's the brake rotors:

"The Problem: Brake rotor stud holes may crack, allowing wheel studs to separate from the hub.
... a free replacement of the rear brake rotors, hubs, and lug nuts."

Good, because I'm going to have four brand new 18’’ Molten Wheels available hopefully end of June and would like to sale them in the secondary market. :ROFLMAO:

In Joe's video today there were 2 more what appear to be SAWDs. He can't tell if they are the same ones, new ones, or not even SAWDs.

Of course, did you read mine?

Did you, or did you not say: "Apparently the recall is accurate and the wheels are susceptible to fracture if driven hard. "
