Nope. Not anymore! Subscription only.
If you sell vehicle, can you bring dad with you? Or is this simply a pure taking away of value from Tesla owners? Or was it never possible?

I started looking around in november for a cybertruck and seemed like the FS was the best deal. I found an excellent condition one in CA with 2400 miles on it for much less than any others. Right after I bought it, fsd wasn't transferable so I think I got in at the right time. 🤷‍♂️

It's a false premise. "Everyone" doesn't want a Foundation Series". Some might prefer it because you can no longer buy FSD, on newer vehicles it's only available as a subscription with no guarantee of pricing as it develops into a fully autonomous vehicle.
I mean it's pretty self-explanatory. Secondhand Foundation just means you probably just dont have your FSD, Free Supercharging as nicley setup as the first owner did who bought it new. As for me, I only wanted a foundation series because it comes with everything .... literally. I wouldnt do a CT used because new gets free supercharging.

Wait, is this true when you sell a foundation series too? It gets stripped of FSD for the next owner?
No. It stays with the vehicle unless the vehicle is sold to Tesla and then they can strip it out as they wish.

Do we know for a fact Tesla is doing this to FS trucks? Because they don’t do it for the launch edition Y I don’t think. There was recently one in used inventory near me that was listed as having FSD

They typically do it when they sell it at auction to a dealer, but they do it as they please. It depends on the market. There was a stretch 2 years ago where all used cars sold by Tesla had FSD, then after the quarter they were all gone.

They could keep all FS with FSD, but at some point they could change their mind. The biggest thing that matters is if you sell your CT to someone else, it will stay with the truck.

FSD does not get stripped when you sell it to the next owner, it remains with the vehicle for life. In fact, I've never heard of Tesla stripping FSD from a Foundation Series even after they accept it as a trade-in. Tesla has sold a number of Foundation Series Cybertrucks on their Inventory/Pre-owned pages and they all came with lifetime FSD.

What I meant by that is you can no longer buy a new Cybertruck with lifetime FSD. That makes used ones with FSD more valuable.

Ok…that’s consistent with what I understood. So the only way a FS is FSDless is if someone transferred it out to another car correct?

Or if it's sold to Tesla and they decide to remove it.

so..what drives that decision? Sounds like sometimes they do and sometimes they don’t.

It's a software switch, so once Tesla owns it after a trade-in, they can turn it on or off as they please. In regards to FSD transferring to the new owner via private sales, that was always the case until recently with the Luxe packages, where FSD was included, but couldn't be transferred, which is where some of the confusion comes from.

So all Foundation Series that HAD FSD will still have it for new owners UNLESS it's traded-in to Tesla and they choose to remove it (which I doubt they will since it was a big part of what made it an FS).

Zero issues with my 24 Beast - not even PCS (charge almost exclusively at home). Has only been in the SC to install the Armor Package and CyberTent (the latter purchased with the $2500 store credit). I told them *not* to replace the cantrails because I've seen horror stories and right now mine look great and show no signs of delam.
Also, although it is correct the there will be issues with first vehicles of a line that they have to fix, it is also true that they cost-reduce parts as the vehicle matures.
That said, I would be very suspicious buying a used FS. Moreso than typical for buying used. I mean, WTF, who drives a CT and then thinks, "nah, I prefer ICE trucks" unless they got a lemon.

California! There was a max influx of cybertrucks when it first launched, then a mass sell off when musk got political. I got mine out of CA for much less than expected. 🎉👍
