Was backing my 37 ft camper into a tight storage spot, and managed to bang the corner of the truck into the fiberglass of the camper. I was intentionally jack-knifing, but didn't expect a crunch when I heard one. I wish I would have saved the footage for debriefing myself. I'm contemplating a shank extension, but I don't know if that's really the right answer. It felt like maybe the rear tires turning got me into trouble. I wish we could lock that out when towing.

I believe the latest update allows disabling the rear steer.

From the off-road guide:
https://service.tesla.com/docs/Cybertruck/cybertruck_offroad_guide.pdf

Off-Road Controls Available in All Modes:
  • Vehicle Hold or Roll: Choose if you prefer the vehicle to roll freely, or automatically hold the brake when you come to a stop.
  • Rear Steering On/Off: Disables the rear steering actuator at low speeds. Useful for off-camber driving, or drifting on very loose surfaces.
  • Double Pedal (Accelerator + Brake) Allowed: Enables tight driving control when on a steep incline/decline.

OFF-ROAD CONTROLS THAT ARE AVAILABLE IN ALL MODES:
  • VEHICLE HOLD OR ROLL – CHOOSE IF YOU PREFER THE VEHICLE TO ROLL FREELY, OR AUTOMATICALLY HOLD THE BRAKE WHEN YOU COME TO A STOP
  • REAR STEERING ON/OFF – DISABLES THE REAR STEERING ACTUATOR AT LOW SPEEDS. USEFUL FOR OFF-CAMBER DRIVING, OR DRIFTING ON VERY LOOSE SURFACES
  • DOUBLE PEDAL (ACCELERATOR + BRAKE) IS ALLOWED IN OFF-ROAD MODES FOR TIGHT DRIVE CONTROL WHEN ON A STEEP INCLINE/DECLINE
Thanks. I may try that next time. Also, having a spotter helps a ton.

Just messed up my fresh wrap.
Sorry to hear. Hopefully not a super expensive panel replacement (assuming color matches with new wrap).

I’m towing with mine this weekend and yesterday I made a turn backing in and had to pause and catch my breath because I thought I was going to do the same thing. More worried about tearing up my camper. My CT isn’t wrapped.

Nice! Yeah, I definitely busted the fiberglass on the front of my camper.

This is one of the reasons for NOT going with a wrap. I love the fact you have a hard time damaging the steel.
Before anyone says anything, I know there are likewise reasons FOR going with a wrap as well. And according to a poll I setup on here, there’s roughly a 2.5 to 1 ratio of people choosing a wrap versus no wrap (not counting a chunk of undecideds).

I think we’re going without a wrap for now (once we get it I mean). Can always add it later if desired.

I figured in a year, if I get bored or they're everywhere, that's when I'd wrap it.
