I received the same email to order two weeks ago. I have done nothing. I don't want a founders edition. I expect many have done the same. As soon as they make a non founders edition everyone is going to lose 20K. Might as well wait... We waited this long...

I have NOT read all of this stream. But based on my experience and my RN ... I was about 100,000 in line and when I took delivery 3 weeks ago, there were about 10,000 VIN's out there. Now there should be 16-20k VINS so you are probably in reality, 25k to 30k from the first delivery. So, 6 more weeks and you will be driving if the take the FS offer.
Based on what Tesla does for marketing, they will make FS trucks until ALL the yes's are exhausted and when they need live orders to keep the line going. We are probably 12-18 months from that day as I fully expect them to go through the entire 2 million+ reservations offering the FS before the FS dies. Why not?
Well, there is NOT 20k difference in a FS and a plain AWD. We are probably just putting another 20k in margin to Tesla. Hell, Elon is shooting for a 5 Billion pay plan, Why not make the financials great again on the backs of the ONLY vehicle that has any sales enertia right now.
Yes the Y does too. But the CT has people honking horns, waving their arms as they pass and pictures Oh my. I went through Mcd's for my grandson the other day, and the checkout lady said she had seem pictures of my truck on Facebook for the past week ... Hundreds of picture of my truck because it is the only one in the rural county in VA where I live.

You may save a few bucks by waiting a few more years for the CT price to come down…..then again you may not. The original tri motor ( Beast) was $60,000. Four years of inflation alone has brought that close to $80,000 adjusted. At the rate of our growing national debt and reduced dollar value the chances of that same CT may be well over $90,000 Is very real. I don’t think interest rates will drop significantly for that to be a deciding factor.

Personal I’ll take delivery of the Beast, pay cash, and enjoy it….i think long term it will hold it‘s Value, even with a possible out the show room floor dip. While many sit for two years waiting and missing for what many have described as a life changing experience to drive.

Just received, May 29. I am RN 11323XXX. My place in line is 495,744. How can I be getting my truck now? Is everyone passing up their opportunity? Am I getting catfished somehow?
There are probably many reasons but the two biggest in my opinion are people waiting for the cheaper non foundation and also 4 years is a long time to wait a lot of folks probably bought something different in the mean time. I almost gave up myself and got a lightning thank goodness for dealership markups.

I am RN #1143xxx and I received my invitation on 5/22. I still haven't configured my truck after reading so many bad news about it.
One problem is reported about 50 times, pay attention to who is reporting them, they are normally trolls.... I have had several new Ford F-150's and have had more issues with them then my cybertruck.
It is super fun to drive! You will love it. Find one on Turo and rent it, that will give you everything you need to know and you will order yours the next day!

I’ve actually switched my mindset if my number ever gets called (117xxx). The difference in monthly payments will be $400ish.. and if the FSD is truly given .. that’s a big deal

As impressed as I am with the CT, the Foundation Series scam and Musk's ketamine fueled elitist rants/outrageous compensation demands mean I am probably buying another EV pickup.

I am sure I am in good company.
Spoken on a CT enthusiast site.. ??. Cool story bro

Just get it! It's awesome. Had mine since mid March and it's been amazing for me. Some hiccups but still worth it

I doubt many reservation holders are cancelling, but SOME probably are... pricing isn't what we originally thought it would be. I'm thinking MOST invitees are passing on FS, and waiting to place a regular order. There's value in the FS add-ons, but it's not $20k worth - FS is definitely premium pricing. If there had been a pickup in my garage already, I probably would have waited to place a non-FS order, but that wasn't my situation. When I got the FS invite, I needed the utility of a pick-up, and I had grown impatient enough that I was willing to pay the premium.

All that said; when I think of what I would have paid for an ICE truck, to do all the stuff I bought my CT to do, I would have been in the same price range. So, I just can't feel bad about my decision to buy the FS CT - it's everything I had hoped for, and then some. But if you've already got a pickup that's paid-for... yeah, it probably makes more sense to wait and save the $20k.

I’m in the same boat.. other than my RN being 117xxx I have need for a truck utility now with kids and travel and the Y being the most cargo we can carry

$59k CT delivered 6/26/26

My guess is that 95% of the “Limited Edition” Foundation Series invites are being ignored and the other 5% of reservation holders are biting the hook that Tesla threw in the water. In other words a 5% conversion rate.

The ongoing speculation is when will Tesla leadership stop manufacturing FS CT’s and switch to “normal” trims.

Some say 20,000 units. Others say it will last for the entire 2024 CT production run. Some speculate that Tesla will send FS invites to all 2M reservation holders until the list is exhausted.

Basically dip the $100k/$120k bucket into the well until it runs dry to maximum revenue to help with HUGE Cybertruck CapEx expenses.

Why not? They have the choice of. Selling 100,000 to 200,000 FS CT’s if they run through the entire reservation list.
That is $2 Billion to $4 Billion in FS markup and will cover the startup costs so when they do start the non FS trucks the margins will be huge too! Big numbers!!
Big when legacy EV attempts are still bleeding and startup EV’ efforts are failing miserably. Even BYD is struggling. Ford is losing over $100,000 per Mach E.

Yeah, I am one of those "biting the hook".

I am over 65yo (barely), I have had some success in my life, not rich, but I would NOT qualify for the tax exemption, even if I waited.

So, I ask you, if I can afford it now, why wait?
Not getting any younger here.
