One of the features that I was most excited about when taking delivery of my Cybertruck was the fact that there is an 240v 50amp outlet in the bed of the truck. The reason for my excitement was that I wanted to see if I could FULLY power my travel trailer. So I decided to test it out!

For those who don't want to watch the video, ?, I was able to power my trailer for a total of 21hrs going from 57%-20%. I estimate that I could have gone 46-47hrs if my truck was fully charged.

Hope you enjoy the video for those who want to watch and support me.

Thanks!

This is great to know. Thanks. I hope Tesla can push an update that lets you AC charge at a campsite with the mobile connector while powering a trailer with the cybertruck’s on board outlets.

Yes, I’ve tested it and it still does not work. Hoping for that fix soon

I went off grid camping last weekend....temp was not hot so no need for an AC. Powering the basic in the RV ylights, tv, usb, gadgets, pumps, microwave)....I lost on average about 30 miles a day. However, when I unplugged everything, and just let the truck sit there with sentry mode disabled, I lost about 12/day. I wasn't thrilled about the ghost drain, but that was my experience on a 27 foot rv trailer.

So only 18 miles lost per day for hooking up the trailer anyway.

That's why I sold my generator on my RV.

Hey, I am in the Bay area as well. Dont have a trailer, but curios where do you normally go camping? is it worth getting an RV
Just in California, you wont run of places to go camping in a year using all your weekends. The state has the most national, state, county and city parks.

If further north through Oregon and WA on Highway 1 and 101 are the loveliest of campgrounds and beaches.

That answers if RV is worth having.

I've been and love going to National parks and all over the state. Normally we would rent a a place or stay in hotels. I am mostly interested if staying at campgrounds is worth it and if its worth it vs renting

Like a swimming pool, an RV can be a fair bit of effort to maintain. If you're able and willing for that (or willing to pay someone else to do the work you can't or won't), and get the amount of use of it to justify the effort, it's more likely to be worth it than if either of those are a problem.

If you have not having been roughing it up tent camping before and loved it, then RV is not for you even if it comes in cheaper than a hotel.

FYI: The most recent 2024.20.1 update that's rolling out appears to have put a huge dent in the phantom drain issue. (I was experiencing this inside a garage with no Sentry Mode and no cabin overheat, so, yeah, pretty bad.)
