Awesome! I get the thought about not installing a home charger but I will say it is nice to always be able to get in your ride and have the charge you need for the day without having to stop anywhere. Also it is nice to have it plugged in to precondition the battery and/or interior without having to drain the battery at all.

I am jealous of your close Supercharger install though :)

I agree, I’m even closer to a SC but will certainly have it plugged in at home nightly (after the 12 months of free supercharging).

Great point. I use the mobile charger at home and kind of struggle to decide if go wall charger or even powershare. V4 Supercharger super near to home give me one less reason. But no idea how to spend that $2500 credit.

Can you just use the credit to supercharge? That’s a lot of free supercharging

Well, you have the mobile charger, that may be enough for you.

In my area, Superchargers cost 3x more than home eletricity, so I would still consider charging at home.

3 mins away from home. I am thinking not to install home wall charger any more.

We have an early Beast order so will eventually upgrade to Powershare/ Wall Connector, but are currently using the Mobile Connector on a 14-50 outlet. Where we live, home charging is 1/2 the cost of Supercharging during the day and 2/3 the cost off-peak or at 150kW sites. So a 50% SOC charge saves up to $5. That pays off infrastructure fairly quickly.

Home charging lets us precondition without impacting range and start out at a level that often doesn't require another stop. Along with not needing any additional battery capacity beyond making it home.

Mongo makes a key point, OP. If you have access to a 240vac outlet at home you can use the mobile charger that came with your truck. (Or even a 120vac but it is half as fast.) That's what I'm doing while I wait on my home charger installation to be scheduled and completed.

I'm fortunate to have a 30 amp 240vac outlet for an electric clothes drier within a few feet of my driveway and garage. I did have to buy a 30 amp adapter from Tesla for the mobile charger to match the outlet configuration. This set up is charging my truck at 24 amps / 13 miles per hour, which is fine for the daily driving I do.

Charging at home costs me less than half the amount per KWH than a Tesla Supercharger. Your Mileage May Vary

You’re lucky to live so close to the new V4s. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for some TX or Dallas locations.

PowerShare is a nice alternative to using generators if you’re interested in that capability as since you have access to it as a FS owner.

But a lot of home charging decisions may come down to your daily driven miles and your charging frequency. If you don’t drive as much, and is fine with a slow standard wall plug charge, you may be fine.

Did you say that a mobile charger came with your truck? Im late to the party and did not know this at all. - So, when one receives their CT, they would be able to charge at home (or any residence) with out needing to purchase additional equipment?

That’s correct. You should receive a mobile charger with the Foundation Series delivery. It’s normally in your bed gear storage.

The mobile charger comes with all new Teslas, it's not a foundation series thing or anything. Used dealers, however, will try to charge you for them.

All new Foundation Cybertrucks come with them. Tesla new cars no longer come with mobile chargers haven't since April 2022. I won't be surprised if when the non Foundation series comes out that the mobile charger is not included.
