125k/year isn't the final ramp goal - just the target for end of the year. From what I've gathered they're planning for at least a 250k/year run rate, but may eventually ramp to 500k/year if demand warrants it.
At some point it was said that 1 line is capable of 125k, but there is equipment for a 2nd line or rumored with presses delivered. So 125k is the limit currently, but there's room for many more lines. I think there will be some more leaks if they open a 2nd line.

And the 1 million reservations doesn't mean a ton. Many have purchased other vehicles or don't have the income or don't want it. There were also some with a ton of reservations.

That said, other orders will come.

Isn't that "Elon time?" LOL.

It could very well be until the end of the year.

I still am curious why Tesla would stop selling FS series if there is still a demand for it. Why leave money on the table? Doesn't make much financial sense.
Well, for one thing demand does have to be diminishing for an expensive "Limited Edition" and Elon might think it's more than a little bit "uncool" to milk it beyond a full model year. Especially when they are creative enough to find many other ways to lighten customer pockets. ?

What @SCTesla said.

That's the production limit of the line. There are no other announced lines on the public drawing board.

And that's where the 125,000 comes from
Tesla Cybertruck Musk says Foundation Series ends soon and non-FS starts next quarter. Production goal of 2500 units/week by end of year 1718393893280-x0

A TX buyer claims that once you order the AWD FS buyers are receiving a VIN the following day. That is super quick.

$100k FS demand is apparently dropping off and it will be accelerated by the non-FS announcement yesterday.

Somebody asked Elon directly during the meeting about when Cybertrucks would be made available in other markets and he said "We might be able to certify it for other markets next year."

So after they scale to this 2500 per week number, efficiencies of scale should allow them to swallow the cost of localising for Australia is my guess.
What will also make Aussie res holders super happy is when this 'Game Of Thrones' becomes a 20% reduction 'Game Of Pennies' to get CT build cost DOWN DOWN ?
Let's see the AUD get up a little over US 70 cents.....by Christmas 2026!?!?!

Eventually production will be more than the amount of Foundation Series purchased so that's when they will switch it. They must be seeing the amounts of FS ordered drop off. Makes sense that the first month or so of pre-orders would be the people who want it now.

I think it's kind of amazing that Tesla has made the 80k version look like a bargain. Before, it was too much, there was massive complaining. Now people are waiting for the "cheaper" version. Which is not really cheap.
Its cheap for what you get. This is an awsome engineering and technological marvel. This is Not a Ford lightning. It's a combination Jeep, Pickup Truck, Mercedez, Boat, Sportscar. Nothing else like it anywhere. AND its bulletproof. All for under a million dollars. A bargain.
Oh I forgot. It's also the only aeorodynamic truck in the world (I think. Don't quote me on this).
Oh, and its BEAUTIFUL. And you can quote me on that.

I could see initially offering FS units as a percentage of overall CT pre-orders. That could explain why the total FS unit count keeps surpassing everyone’s low estimates. Right before releasing the non-FS config, they could send final FS Invitation emails to all remaining Tesla accounts to lock in what they can. I’d assume this last round of invites will come with “FS order deadline” verbiage.
Yep. I think they're going to give each and every early registrant one and only one chance at the FS branding. Once thru the complete cycle, they'll go back and treat the ones who didn't order to the none-FS pick of their choice in the original order of early registration; then the rest of the world.

If you don’t get the FS, I don’t think it is wise to buy FSD anyways.. just do the monthly subscription after
… you don’t think the price will be increased when autonomy is solved and they are running the Robo taxi network.

Honestly I do! That is why I want to get the FS-AWD. I think the FSD on the FS is a bargain.
But if you are trying to stay under the tax credit threshold, that is a way to do it and still get FSD..
But yes, I think the Foundation Series is a good deal especially if you see the future of FSD

Yes, I agree :) that’s why I put my FS order on hold … to wait for the $79k and get the tax credit. When do you think we can release the hold and actually get one of the first few regular AWD CTs?

That’s a good plan! I don’t qualify for the tax break (not a bad problem to have), so the FS is valuable to me.
And I have no clue! I am just waiting for my configuration email! ??

Maybe. But Tesla will take a cut of robotaxi revenue regardless if you have FSD or not. They will need all the fleet, with and without FSD. Maybe their cut is discounted if you have FSD
