I hope I am wrong but Tesla might throw buyers a stumbling block when they release the $79,900 AWD CT.

What is it? Tesla May decide to make FSD a non-optional standard feature on the truck.

That would jack up the $79,900 truck at least another $8k but still allow buyers to qualify for the possible $7500 tax credit since software doesn't count towards the selling price.

Food for thought.

That would be an awful decision both legally & commercially. Not going to happen. Now way down the road fsd could be forced but I doubt it…

The car comes standard with Autopilot already so I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibilities that they include FsD. Now do I think they would? No because having it as an option lowers the starting price and allows them to remain competitive.

Not sure why you say “legally”?

I hear that they are going to send hit men out to kill you.

It makes just as much sense.

And just as much out of the blue stupid statement.

Not sure why people on here need to be rude when they disagree about something. Oh well.

Like some here I predicted Tesla would stop FS by the end of June. From that point, they will only produce the orders taken for the FS. There’s going to be a gap for people who order NFS and when they get it. One thing for sure Tesla, will take a page from Porsche and practically make everything an option for the NFS. The price anyone will be paying will be the steering wheel, motors and the shell. The seat colors, FSD, track lights and the tracks in the bed and so on.

This doesn't sound like Tesla. ITs more likely Tesla has a hard cut off, and orders will be converted. They do this will all sort s of packages, and options, and non options, already. Sometimes they give notice, and sometimes they don't. Foundation has been a different animal than previous limited editions. I don't think Tesla ultimately cares about it, I think it was a tool to taper demand, while they focused on production ramp. Its basically a full option suite, and a $5K premium. I am guessing they changed the $4000 voucher to $2500 to taper orders, so there would not be as many conversions to non FS. They wanted to diminish perceived value.

if it's anything like what Tesla has done historically, I respectfully do NOT think it'll be a standard non optional feature--just an optional feature.

Doesn’t make any sense and goes against anything else they’ve done so far.

The "extra's" options scenario will more likely be:
- Off road mode and AT Rims/wheels sold as a package together or separately
- White interior/upgraded sound system
- FSD

Tesla will not build a bunch of variants to nickle and dime buyers like other OEMs as that would far too complicate the build process.

It's going to be interesting to see what Tesla will make standard and optional on the upcoming AWD non-FS Cybertruck.

With off the hook demand for the upcoming $79,900 AWD Cybertruck nothing would surprise me. The Dual Motor version should be the high volume trim level.

Tens (hundreds?) of thousands of reservation holders have been waiting patiently for Tesla to offer the non-FS version.

If you are talking about me, it's because this post has come up with a completely out of the blue, unfathomable concept. And statements like this often start rumors that make their way into social media.

There is absolutely no evidence or even concept that it may happen.
