Good to know, any suggestion for the tool can break CT glass?
Good info:

I would keep this mounted in a reasonable place in the vehicle:
https://www.grainger.com/product/EMI-Emergency-Hammer-Tool-Orange-54DH69

And also this:
https://www.grainger.com/product/ST...23TL80?opr=PDPRRDSP&analytics=dsrrItems_5R811

Use the hammer with a series of 5 or so blows in a straight line across the window, then kick as hard as you can with your feet. If you don't end up punching the glass out with that force (and you more than likely will), then grab the folding saw and go to town.

This of course an absolute last resort. if you absolutely HAD to use a firearm at that point, then obviously you could. But I would advise not until you have exhausted everything else.

Those back door releases continue to be one of the most frustrating things about Teslas, in my opinion. They've never been adequate as "emergency" exits. The levers on the front doors make so much more sense. I'm sure it is cost savings but I love the safety of Teslas and I wish they would put those same releases in the back doors.
I suspect it is to prevent accidental opening by a young child. You can disable the back doors electronically from the touch screen but no way to disable the rear door manual release. Having the manual release down low and out of sight decreases the chances of a two year old opening the door on the highway.

My wife was exclusively opening the doors this way until I told her there was a nice button so... maybe it's not so hidden. She thought it was the normal way. ??

You mean the ones in the front seats right? The manual release in the back is hidden in the “map pocket” under a removable thin rubber pad. She and other passengers/drivers should probably have these pointed out.

If Telsa doesn't already do this, they should have buyers sign-off during the sales paperwork stating they fully understand how to activate the emergency exit mechanism
I'd rather them use their technology and cameras to figure out when they should open doors and drop windows. if they're good enough to drive through the city they should be good enough to read the crash scene.

Not shocked it happened in Texas, hands down some of the worst drivers in the entire country are found in Texas.
I was recently warned "watch out for those crazy Florida drivers" before taking a trip there.

Apparently, no one told Florida "watch out for those crazy Texas drivers" lol

1:45 AM? That's all I need to know.
Yep. They said they were driving at a high rate of speed and failed to make the turn. Coming home from the bar and driving your CT.

There’s a cool saw called a glass-master that is pretty good at cutting out laminate glass, it was pretty common to use before battery powered sawzalls were everywhere

Yeah that is what I am looking for. Everything I find says to forget about escaping through laminated windows, go to the other windows if they are not laminated. I would love to see details on the recommended way to deal with exiting through the windows on a CT, right now it doesn't seem possible.
Well, they're just busy, I guess. There's a reason roofs pop off from time to time: They're just glued in. It's the glue you need to beat, not the entire hardness of the glass.

Once broken, even slightly, that glue isn't holding it in anymore. And there's nothing stopping it from being pushed outward. It's meant to resist forces pushing an intact piece of glass inward, not a broken piece of glass outward.

That's why kicking out the windscreen often works, as well (although it specifically might be too heavy on a Cybertruck).

Having the manual release down low and out of sight decreases the chances of a two year old opening the door on the highway.
There was a recent lawsuit against a livery driver on the freeway near here about a drunk woman who opened the door and fell out onto our very, very deadly highway.
