There’s a cool saw called a glass-master that is pretty good at cutting out laminate glass, it was pretty common to use before battery powered sawzalls were everywhere
This is a great professional-grade extrication tool. Good demo of laminated glass a side window being removed at 3:07:

That said, it is designed to be used from the outside so features like the blade that directs glass fragments towards the operator are less helpful for self-rescue from inside a vehicle (but a minor issue if the alternative is asphyxiation/burns). A greater issue is how effective this tool is on Cybertruck laminated glass which seems (from the WhistlinDiesel video) to be quite tough. Is there adequate room inside the truck to swing the tool hard enough to make the initial penetration point to then use the saw? This would be a nice test for some YouTuber with more money than sense to try out. Tesla made some very nice videos in the early days of the X that showed a detailed overview of extrication techniques for professional rescuers. I have not seen one yet for Cybertruck and it would be helpful. Tesla has this site for resources for first responders, no Cybertruck info there yet...

I get that she is Canadian, but the lyrics to Morissette's "Ironic" weren't actually ironic things.
That song was written that way on purpose lol. Have you never noticed it? double irony.

Don't need a hammer with a panic knife... I'd bet nobody could jam a seatbelt so hard that pushing the button won't release it. Breaking a window? How about a simple little spring loaded center punch? It'll pop windows like there's no tomorrow. That hammer? Better not store it in the glove box.

Read more of the thread. The center punch will do nothing to the CT's laminated windows.

Like 1/3 of all cars made in the last 10 years. It'll still shatter the window.

No, it very likely will not "shatter the window". As opposed to tempered glass, laminated glass requires a hard strike from a large, heavy tool with a small pointed end (halligan bar is typical example for professional rescuers). Then a sawzall (or hand saw) is used to cut an opening in the glass. Spring-loaded center punches and the lightweight hammers are purpose-designed for tempered glass.

I'll defer to you. I didn't think the centerpunch would clear the glass but rather that the glass would pebble (the inside layer, anyway) and then you could push out to break the rest. But, I'm no expert. But please, don't tell my wife about the center punch not being enough...

Well, any EV fire is going to be different than an ICE fire... because EV batteries take a significantly more effort and time to extinguish. All that in a steel box... RIP to our comrade, the driver.

I had the exact same thought while i was watching the video. I keep a loaded 9mm in the center console mainly for breaking the window. I know regular window glass breaking tool won't work in CT. Hope 9mm is good enough to shatter the glass and puncture some holes for me be able to kick the glass off. after watching the video, now i am thinking of replacing the 9mm with revolver with magnum ammo。
Hell no. I keep a bazooka loaded and at the ready in my CT...
