I did that exact thing for my Maverick except, it was a mirror for another car brand which I can't remember right now. It was $27 and easy enough to install. It has 3 different garage door buttons and a compass readout. If anyone cares, I can get the brand when I get back to my truck after work. One solution would be to buy an after market mirror that has it built in, around $150 on amazon, although seems rough to spend money on mirror that doesn't work 90% or the time. Here is another option that with a little bit of 3d printing, could just replace the current rear view mirror.
