MyQ subscription covers all of your cars, the cost is less than the $350 Tesla charges to add homelink on its other car.
Add that it recognizes door open/close status and it gets better.
Happy to pay $300 to get two cars connected for ten years.
So far haven't used the MyQ app other than to set it up (which was trivial)
Knowing the door is already open is nice. MyQ needs the Internet to control doors, which can have issues on both sides. I'd rather not pay for a service even if a lifetime license is available. I don't want to rely on the internet and some companies' servers that can go away at any time.

Will MyQ open automatically?

MyQ has been great with the auto open and close of the garage doors. Still hoping for the Homelink option to become available to control my exterior gate system.

No CD player or AM antenna either. Just saying, the future is here.

This isn’t a matter of innovation and improvement. Homelink operates universally with locality for free.

Very true, but at least it tells you when it can't talk to the door, so you can use what ever fall back you want.
For me, it's an additive option. But I use MyQ with my Model3 even though that has homelink, it just works better. My next Tesla wont cost me anything to use MyQ, so another $350 bucks saved
But yes, its like a stateful version on Homelink so opens and closes when needed.

According to my local sales rep, Homelink capability for Cybertruck is being investigated & planned but no timeframe on availability. Stay tuned.

While I have MyQ for Amazon deliveries, I added IOT switches to my garage door opener and driveway gate. Now, I use Siri / Google Assistant to open and close via voice commands in the Truck.

"Siri open driveway gate"; "Siri close driveway gate"

Since I'm primarily an iPhone user, I just loaded homekit software on some Shelly1 controllers.

But you could use any IOT relay that fits your preferred ecosystem and be up and running.

We use Google Assistants inside the house, so we had to manage both.

Is MyQ GPS linked? Will it automatically open/close your garage as you approach or do you have to press a button on the screen?

A few questions (I couldn't find answers on the Internet):

Let's say I sign up for 10 years of MyQ for $300, but then I replace my garage door opener after 3 years. Do I lose the remaining 7 years of service, or can I replace the opener in my account? (I'm not sure if the subscription is tied to the actual garage door openers.)

Let's say I have 3 garage door openers. Do I need to pay for separate MyQ subscriptions for each one?

Your MyQ subscription is tied to your account, not the particular equipment. You can also use the account on multiple Teslas.

We have it going on 3 door openers, 2 locations, 2 Teslas, from a single account. Still pricey but much better value in this scenario. Biggest question now is will it still be around in 10 years?

If you are worried about MyQ and reliable internet connection, why not just pick up a home link programmable remote off Amazon for 20 bucks and keep it in the glove box as a back up.
