Update on mine. Neither the new power conversion system nor the new harness fixed it. They’re consulting with a Tesla engineer now trying to figure out what’s wrong with it
Eric,
Did they change the long ribbon cable like they did on mine?

Still no success. They’ve replaced a rear module and now think it might be related to the a-pillar harness so one of those has been ordered. One more week of this and it officially becomes a lemon.

With a more normal car, if you get a lemon you can just get another one. With the Cybertruck that might take awhile. Let's hope they find the problem!

Mine was at the shop for 25 days and the part they've changed worked. So i was 5 days away from Lemon as well.

I am assuming they'll just give you a new one if you go through the process. Never looked at it in detail.

At some point they will stop making Foundation Series, so replacement may not be an option. Also, Lemon Laws are state laws. I am not aware of any states that don't allow the manufacturer to simply refund your purchase price as full resolution. That would be a bummer.

An additional complication is that I’m relocating next week so getting the truck back after I move would be a pain. The service center was actually willing to start the buyback paperwork but I told them to hold off until we learn if the next part fixes it.

Hi Eric and ttohumcu,

I know your issues with your CT are about 6 months old, but apparently i seem to have the same issue on my recently delivered truck. Here's a brief before i ask your guidance:
- 9/9/24 picked up CT AWD foundation serious (VIN in the 29K)
- 9/25 asked to update the software with auto-park
-9/27 drove it for about 10 miles after software update (~630 miles in total since delivery), the car has total power loss in a parking lot without any previous warnings or alerts, upon opening the driver door, the screen shut down, the steering wheel went upside down, and the driver door rod is sticking out and did not go back after opening the door, upon jumping it, multiple errors showed up indicating low voltage issue detected.
Tesla ended up sending towing service and the car was dropped to Springfield NJ SC.

- 10/2 Tesla is texting me that "48v lithium battery, the power conversion system as well as the high voltage cluster harness require replacement" pushing the repair time from 10/4 to 10/18 (i.e. 22 days from dropping it at SC), note: I understand in NJ 20 calendar days may be sufficient to initiate lemon request.

My question to you, if this is similar to what you have experienced, how did the problem fixing go, and was it recurrent, or it never happened again? did they need to replace any other parts?

What is your experience guidance for me?

Thanks in advance

Its not the same issue for sure based on your description. In my case they’ve replaced communications cable and fixed the problem. But my car was still driveable after 10 mins.
Eric had same issue as mine. Not sure what ended up happening in his.

After replacing a plethora of parts, including all of the ones mentioned in this thread, the “critical issue” problem was addressed although I’m not sure they know the actual cause since so many things were taken apart so many times. They had a Tesla engineer involved. Upon picking the truck up, I started having air suspension failures. They’ve replaced the compressor and all of the lines twice and claim it is now fixed. It’s been out of service well over 30 days and I no longer have confidence in it so I’ve asked the service center to submit the repurchase paperwork. Hopefully they take it back without much of a hassle so I don’t have to go through the legal/mediation process.

Oh man, thats just pain. Hopefully they’ll just give you a brand new truck.
