It was peeled off before of course but they still tried to say something impacted it until I requested their “tech” to confirm no impact marks. It was the tint for sure but the case in point is that it is not necessary to tint it and at some point Tesla may not warranty since they can’t confirm tint or not. I do not either see or feel a difference in my truck without the tint and I tinted the windows day 2 of getting the truck. But you do you fella!!

Absolutely not. I was sitting in the truck charging as it happened. They couldn’t find any impact marks which odd why they ended up removing the $2k charge and replacing the roof.

First off, I’ll leave the name I was about to use out of it because I realize you really have no idea of the entire post here. Your windshield is fine to tint any freaking darkness and paper type you want, why, because it is a single pane windshield. The problem with the roof and tinting with paper that reflects a certain amount of UV percentage is that it only reflects that heat to the second (outer pane) of its duel pane. THAT’S THE PROBLEM. If your tint is cheap or non UV reflective, you have no problem. If you have a good tint and was well intentioned to try to deflect heat from your interior, be ready to replace the roof after paying to remove the tint. Period! I’m not posting this to have you remove your tint, or scare/worry you. I can care less what you do. I’ve had my truck since March newbie!! Take my advice or leave it Jack ass!! Sorry I could only hold back for so long. This is a place to help folks out so don’t come in here with your bs.
No, but I know why. It was helpful that they told me there was no history of the glass cracking. Not a defect from manufacturing. Just do not tint or at least do not use UV protected tint. It obviously reflects back to the outer roofs duel pane Which is what cracked!!

To refuse a warranty claim, legally, the onus is on the guarantor to prove the modification caused the damage.
