Non-Foundation Series has less range than Foundation Series

Does anyone know the reason why the non foundation has less range? Less battery cells?

I believe Tesla has more data from the FS owner, which helps them estimate the range more precisely.

I’m averaging 336 Wh/mi over 3,000 miles on my AWD with AT tires. Real world range of 350+ mi.

My experience with FS AWD and AT tires is range of 300 miles at 80 mph highway and 390 miles with city-ish driving (1/2 65 mph and 1/2 30 mph). It is getting much better range than originally advertised for me.

Anyone, know if they discount the $1000, for military discount on the Non-Foundation series.

Yes, they do. Tax at 3+% went into effect on 10/1 and it steps up to 6.625% in June 2025

I've got 8000 miles. Range is still about 275 real world daily driving
I went 600 yo NOLA. Same range as local. The web site is bs. 340+, impossible if we are blocked at 318 charge. But 8000 miles, same.

My son has two plausible scenarios. Incentivize people on the fence to purchase a FS before they stop producing them, or, so they can ‘unlock’ the extra range later on for a price since the battery size is probably exactly the same as in both cases.

Same here! I get 435 watts per mile at 80 mph highway, so about 283 miles of range. AWD with AT wheels / tires

My range spikes by almost 80 miles if I slow down below 60 mph and accelerate like a grandma (no offense to seniors, my retiree mom still drives like she’s eternally late for work)

The only way I envision 300 mile range at 80 mph is using autopilot / FSD on a smooth highway, in a straight line, with no hills

It will be a software upgrade to unlock more range, it is the same for acceleration. Have you. Noticed 0-60 in 4.1 instead of 3.8. Acceleration boost software upgrade is $2500, more range unlock probably $1k. Foundation series includes them both
