Original reservation didn't have Foundation nor Powershare...Depends how one defines "order". The original reservation process actually is called order process. Based on this all earlier reservations are eligible. Tesla has changed the rules retroactively without notifying sales and delivery teams, which do not have an idea how this has happened. I know for sure that weeks after May 23 there was no change in policy since I went to sales office 2 weeks after May 23 and reviewed with the sales representative their internal guidance for sale. $4k credit was there, and it was removed from the website for non-foundation reservations. This is a huge mess.
What was your order date?I finally went in person to Tesla's shop and brought up the problem. They cannot do anything about the cutoff date. Neither the 4k credit or 2500 coupon are listed in
Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement and considered an incentive. They reference a clause: "Incentives. Tesla makes no promises, warranties or guarantees regarding fund availability or your eligibility for any incentives, rebates and tax credits (the “Incentives”) related to the Vehicle." They are aware about the issue and very intentionally radio silent and do not provide any responses in writing. Sales suggested to submit official claim or take or arbitrage.
The 1k downpayment date is in June. What was your order date?
For June, there was no longer a $4k installation allowance with Beast orders. The 1k downpayment date is in June.
The credit was silently pulled out without awareness of sales and delivery teams. Before order, sales shared with me a screen (internal page) with an options and installation credit was listed in June. I do believe there was some internal change that didn't bubble up to sales. At delivery I was assured the track is eligible for the 4k installation credit. For June, there was no longer a $4k installation allowance with Beast orders.
Tesla person was wrong, the $2,500 credit is not an incentive, it's part of the Foundation package as called out on the order page.
The $4k installation credit was explicitly removed from the order page May 23rd. That is a more official agreement than internal or verbal sources. The credit was silently pulled out without awareness of sales and delivery teams. It wasn’t entirely silent, but it was quiet and vague, which is why Tesla's sales and delivery teams were confused, at least until August. It wasn't silently removed (poor internal communication excepted), it was replaced on May 23 with
"UNIVERSAL WALL CONNECTOR AND GATEWAY V3 INCLUDED
Powershare Home Backup installation services are not included. A $2500 Tesla Shop voucher for ordering equipment and instructions for coordinating with Tesla Certified installer will be
provided. Installation must be completed with a Tesla Certified Installer.
Foundation Series Cybertruck customers who are not eligible or who decline the Powershare Home Backup can use the voucher for a single purchase in the Tesla Shop, which may include various items, up to the voucher value."

The announcement you’ve shared is reminiscent of those issued by traditional dealerships—something many Tesla customers dislike. I don’t believe this is the image Tesla wants to project; they can do much better. Here's how the announcement should look coming from a company that values transparency and clarity for both its customers and its own sales and delivery teams:
"Effective May 23, the Cyberbeast model will no longer be eligible for the $4,000 Powershare Home Backup installation credit. Instead, we are offering a $2,500 Tesla Shop voucher. This voucher can be used to order equipment, and detailed instructions for coordinating with a Tesla Certified Installer will be provided. Please note that installation must be completed by a Tesla Certified Installer. Alternatively, the voucher can be applied towards a one-time purchase from the Tesla store. We believe this new incentive better aligns with the interests of our customers who already own Tesla charging equipment.
Thank you for your continued trust and support."
This announcement clearly outlines when the policy change takes effect, describes the new policy, and explains the reason behind the change.
Not just led to belive, they do. Original Beast deal was Gateway 3V, UWC, and up to $4k installation credit (once you get things hashed out with installer, at least).Weren't some buyers at some point lead to believe that they would receive both equipment and up to $4K for install costs?
