I didn’t buy it for the attention. I bought it because I love the design and the tech. I think you are wrong on that one Wilson. It’s probably more like 5% do it for the attention. If there were no attention. It be better for me.

I think a lot will change in a month. The election will be over (regardless of who wins), and a lot more Cybertrucks will be on the road. It's hard to spew hate when they're all over the place...

BTW, also let me know how manual driving is. Now that the Cybertruck can drive itself (finally), I take it almost always over the Model S Plaid...

also I’m not sure I care about the opinion of a person who buys a GM because the doors are very slam-able, this guy must slam a lot. I do know if I slam the doors in my house I’ll start to cause damage. I must have a shitty house too

Elon Musk is responsible for this, so I think we should let him cook.
Credit where credit is due! But, I don’t like chitterlings, I don’t care who’s cooking them!

We also have to take into account that we live on a planet in which this absolute clown has more than a million followers.
Never heard of this dude until you just brought him to my attention. Only got through about 40 seconds of that. I’m capable of olding multiple opinions which is why I was intent on making it clear that I’m not one of these guys who supports Elon because I love Elon.

I am able to recognize that Tesla is making the best cars and maintain that Elon needs to shut the fuck up. I’m also able to recognize that what SpaceX is doing is phenomenal while also remembering that the self-made millionaire myth is just that. I know, I know he didn’t start with Tesla or SpaceX. [You’re gonna tell me zero things about Elon Musk that I don’t know - I promise you.]

Nobody is pulling themselves up by their own bootstraps, nobody is buying rockets and tunnels but the government. Outside of investing in the company and buying the products, I have put a shit-ton of money and Elon’s pockets out of my taxes. The boring company wouldn’t have much to show besides a test tunnel that “flamethrower” I bought from them if we hadn’t have been propping the company up here in Las Vegas with my taxes. I’m not bitter about that but to pretend it ain’t so it’s just as ignorant as acting like FSD is nonfunctional garbage. It’s easy to profess a policy of anti-government anti-subsidy when you’ve already gotten your fill from the trough.

It is not possible to achieve a certain level of wealth without being a beneficiary of the largess of government which is funded by the little people - infrastructure, stability, public safety and transportation, education of your workforce (the vast majority went to a public school - I assure you) play role and they don’t come from nowhere.

My brain is a difference engine and I use it to it expansively without allowing myself to get caught up in stupid political dogma or being bamboozled by people with agendas.

So, I can be a raging capitalist who employs over 100 people in my law firm and also recognized that laissez-faire economics does not work no matter what you call it. Elon’s really good at some things, he’s also really bad at others. C’est la vie!

I only know of one person who bought the GM. His wife thinks the Cybertruck looks cool. Besides that, don't know anyone who owns one, or I've seen one on the road.

100%. I don't get how some people are so stupid that their brain's can't figure this out. Their brains goes straight to hate. The brain must be so small.

Stupid people like hate, hate brings in more clicks, more views. I don't get it. I personally stay away from those, because I can sense the bullshit. It's not hard to detect. In highschool they teach bias, subjective, objective. No one learned that? Lol

I didn’t buy it for the attention. I bought it because I love the design and the tech. And I love Back to Future growing up. Wish I had money back then to buy a Delorean. I think you are wrong on that one Wilson. It’s probably more like 5% do it for the attention. If there were no attention. It be better for me.

I watch videos of the Cybetruck for years on my TV. My kid's have seen it while I watched those videos. Asked to buy Cybertruck toys to play with. When I finally got my truck, sometimes I didn't want the attention and would try and drive our other vehicles. "Why not the Cybetruck daddy?" I quickly switch my tune. Fuck those haters.
same. Probably wrong on the %, sure. Still unsure why all the hate for Elon. Smooth brains I suppose

But why? You keep saying that - why?
Becausehe’s antagonizing his core customers. Because whether you like it or not whether you agree with his opinions or not he is 100% diminishing his brand. The granola eating, tree hugging liberals that have been buying his vehicles that put him where he is are not feeling what he’s doing and they are voting with their wallets 100%.

he may be ready to fight and all of those things, but having the government not want to give him contracts because of his in your face politics is problematic. As a shareholder I’m not interested in having to pay expensive lawyers for him to fight unnecessary battles because he feels the need to vent his spleen constantly.

Can he do that? Sure! Should he fucking no!!! Obviously not! My business is tiny in comparison I assure you that I’ve got people on my staff from every walk of life and every political persuasion. My clients are across the spectrum too. I’m not on social media talking politics. Do I have opinions? Of course I do. Does it advance my business interest for me to be a hyper partisan zealot? No! I’m limiting myself to half of the market potentially.

Another reason that I think should shut the fuck up is that I think he’s ignorant when it comes to politics. I think he’s immature. I think he’s on the spectrum and doesn’t understand people. And I wish there was someone around him that could tell him hey dude Maybe just go on this political journey quietly. Put your money where you want your money to be back the horses that you want to back. Does, anybody have to do that absolutely not do I think that that would be in his best interest 100 fucking percent!!

He’s an Obama/Trump voter for God sakes!! Tell me you’re confused without telling me you’re confused. That’s why I think he should shut up. More questions?

[You’re going to want to point me to statistics touted by now you know and others that show there hasn’t been any appreciable effect on Tesla buyers and general opinion of Elon as if I’m not aware of them. I am, and they are contraindicative studies as well. I’ll go with my gut and my knowledge of people who are absolutely dumping their cars and refusing to buy Teslas again because of politics. The number is not insignificant and as Elon has said himself the car business is hard enough already why make it harder unnecessarily?] Just shut it!

I don’t want this to become the focus because that’s about it. This is about being proud of or comfortable with your purchase of a cybertruck. I’ve stated my opinion about that and that’s what matters for this thread. Also, we’re not supposed to be doing politics I’m trying not to and I think Elon should not be doing politics for the same reason that this forum doesn’t want that

It’s bad for business!!! Objectively!

Elon should want to sell the car to everyone who wants to buy a car. If anybody is debating whether they should be purchasing the car because of who the CEO is then that’s and unforced error in again what the man himself has made clear is a very difficult business. Why on earth, merely to vent your spleen publicly, would you make your row harder to hoe?

Talk about first principles. ? Anyone who’s finding it hard to follow this bouncing ball should probably check their zealotry and stop worrying about other people’s stupidity.

I’m really tempted to sell because of all the attention, criticism, assumptions, and even aggressive drivers targeting me on the highway. I also wish Elon wasn’t so vocal and polarizing—it’s not great for a CEO, and honestly, it’s embarrassing to own any Tesla right now, let alone the Cybertruck. The internet hype, trash talk, and misinformation don’t help either. Has anyone seen the new GM ad where they show how strong their doors are by slamming them shut? It seems like a direct response to that viral video of the WhistlinDiesel group wrecking the Cybertruck doors.

Do you think all this will die down once more non-FS models hit the road or maybe after things calm down later this fall?
Try to be a stronger person so that other people's stupid opinions don't ruin your life and your passions.

This whole post is making me want to buy a FS Cyberbeast to replace my non-foundation order. I feel like I need to give more money to Tesla and Elon to offset some of y’all crazies.
So your argument is that in order to counter people who are making business decisions for the crazy reasons that you will counter them by doing the same thing?

?

Im not making an argument because Im not a dumbass like the majority of responders in this thread. It’s truly baffling, but there is no debate or argument. If anything it’s sarcasm given the fact the mere presence of being here is supporting Elon. You only make change with habits, but bad PR hasn’t done anything to affect Tesla for almost a decade now and the CT doesn’t change it.
