The bed will 99% of the time be used to haul groceries. Not trying to flex. ?
But they are big, bulky, and heavy groceries.

Unfortunately this was not the problem for allot of us. The bed ridges hit the bottom of the divider before the rubber comes into play for most of us
This is 100% the problem.

Hey all, I searched to see if anyone's posted this before and hadn't found it. Apologies if this is a repost.

Yesterday I received my Vault Divider from Tesla. It looks like they've re-engineered the whole bottom section including a modular design of the feet, making it fit a lot better!

I was nervous about buying the OEM divider because of all the fit issues I read on this forum so held off initially. I was actively considering the aftermarket solution I've seen with the adjustable feet but since I had the Tesla store credit I got impatient and I pulled the trigger. I pulled it out of the package and threw it in the bed with my bed mat still installed, and to no one's surprise the fitment was way off. I pushed down with all my weight and there was no way it was latching.

After giving up, I moved a section of my bed mat to see if it would fit without (or cut a section out, which I've seen some folks do). I was just barely able to get it to latch. So do I cut my bed mat? Remove it completely? As I was weighing my options, I flipped the divider over and examined the feet.

It looks like Tesla has redesigned both the bottom of the divider, and the feet itself! I saw that there was a seam on the feet so I thought maybe I could trim it down a bit - turns out I didn't have to. As you can see in the photos below, the feet are now all rubber and have two sections. The smaller section is about 1/4" thick and is designed to be removable! I unscrewed the bolts with an Allen key and sure enough, the smaller section pops out and I installed the bolts back in.

With the feet shortened I was able to easily install this in the bed of the truck with zero force, even with the bed mat.

Now, one of the complaints I read was that the feet don't actually touch the bed because the divider is too tall - this seems to no longer be the case. I don't know if they shortened the entire divider or maybe just the bottom section, but with this installed the divider is clearly resting on the feet, not on the grooves of the bed. So I don't know how exactly they achieved this without holding the old design in hand, but the original complaints seem to be rectified.

Here's a photo I took of a scrap of paper slid between the bed and the divider. This demonstrates that it is not resting on the bed grooves, but planted firmly on the feet.

If I were anyone who previously ordered one of these and it doesn't fit, I'd send it back to Tesla and get this redesign. Hope that helps someone out there!
I'm not sure from just looking at the photos but it looks like there are some washers at the bottom of the countersink of the part you removed I would probably keep those washers with the screws. less chance of having the screw head punch through the rubber.

Can you measure the height of your divider (not including the feet)? I'd be happy to compare measurements to see if this one is much shorter.
it has been measured before the result of those measurements was that the new improved version is in fact shorter in Hight by 1/4" to 3/8" with a tape measure.

Nope no washers, I didn't take photos of the separate portion but it was clearly designed to have the screw installed in either position.

Glad I returned my Tesla OEM one and got one from CybertruckCo which has the adjustable feet. Cheaper too.

I had issues with the 2nd version and I just brought it in to the SC and they just adjusted the truck bed liner or replaced it. It works find now and can be locked into any of the L tracks :)

I went into my past purchases from the store , it said it wasn’t eligible for return but I still messaged them they then asked for a video and or photos of the problem. Once I sent them about a week later they contacted me saying they sent a new one out. But like I said it was the same exact size and problem. I’m not sure if there is Actualy a redesigned one or some people are just getting lucky with one that’s a bit smaller

I took my cyberbeast into the tesla service center on Wednesday 10/16/24. To fix this issue with my cargo divider. I was told that it was a common problem, and they had a solution in place and my problem would be resolved and the divider would work as intended. my truck was there most of the day. when I picked it up they brought my truck out " ok sir all of your concerns have been addressed and resolved and ushered me away. They looked so confident about it that I didn't bother checking, got home and sure enough the problem still exists. All they did was try and force it in unsuccessfully only one side was in the track. All this after I made it clear that I would rather not bring it in if all they are going to do is forch it. because I can do that myself any 200 bls gorrilla can do that I dont need a service center for that. Even after they assured me that it wont happen IT DiD THATS WHAT HAPPEN THEY TRIED TO FORCE IT AND FAILED . Now I have another appointment today. well see how that gos?
I 3d printed replacement spacers that fixed it. This was my issue at service too. They then said looks like you fixed it. Cool. Working as intended.
