Tesla Cybertruck Cybertruck Year 2 Underway -- What New Features / Improvements Would You Like to See in 2025? 1734033112954-30

As we're past Cybertruck's first (or fifth) birthday, we'd like to welcome all the non-Foundation Series owners who are just finding us. We welcome your energy, curiousity and ... wheel covers. Serious about those wheel covers, most of us don't have them yet.

As we expand the Cyberverse, what is everyone looking forward to in Year Two of our cyberlord? Here is my starter list:

  • Summon - dumb summon, smart summon. Really, I'll take any summon.
  • FSD - the real one, not the ram-rodded port of the S3XY models since we don't like crashing through center medians on left-hand turns, having mid-turn corrections on right-hand turns, tailgating frightened highway motorists or slamming the brakes hard and late when coming into red lights.
  • CyberSUV - I've never owned a truck, and I treat my CT as a five-seat SUV and it does an admirable job. Sure, incredible (non-weatherproof) trunk space for days but that rearview mirror...c'mon. If Rivian can roll out the R1S within 12-18 months of the R1T, which they could and did, we should be looking at a CyberSUV with four doors and three rows of seats no later than mid next year. it will arrive, and it will be marvelous. Besides, we know Tesla prefers to make two vehicles per platform - S/X,3/Y. Heck, even GM managed this with the Hummer EV truck and Hummer EV SUV. Don't tell me Tesla can't do something that Rivian and GM have already done.
  • Megacharging - no, we don't need a full megawatt at Superchargers for .0001 seconds, but getting 500kw at a v4 and holding 150kw through 65-70% would be really nice

What else do you want to see in Year Two? New t-shirt designs? Optimus doing mobile service visits?

not completely related, but we have a huge gen 2 wishlist posted a few times this year, thought some of the simple items could be moved into the 2025 model

ill repost the list and note items easily moved to 2025

I’d like to see an option for more drivers legroom. Us old folks with stiff legs would sure appreciate another 3-4 inches, even if it cuts the back seat short. Even a 3rd party kit would be acceptable. My biggest concern is if we need a short jumper for signal and power wiring, a couple of extended pedestal feet/legs would be helpful as well. ? TIA

Oh, that was for the CT (for me).

They have a 3 row SUV already, unlikely. Minivan, likely at some point. Everything else you said is software, not a new model year, let alone a new generation.

4 motor CyberWolverine
Above the yoke instrument panel
Onboard aircompressor
Lowering rear window
Load mode for the bed (software since its been shown to work in service mode or something I saw)
Some weird 3 wheel motion or hip-hop settings from the hood on 67 Chevy's (software)
Some 2nd row reclining
Approach door open (Software)
More Rivian like displays like they had for Halloween and Back to the Future.

Both the entry and exits are buttons so I’m struggling how it’s not software. I’ve been wrong.

Wes stated the door could be popped open in the app like the 3/Y got last year, but not fully open and certainly not close like the X because it lacks hardware.

I'm going to break mine up into two categories.

Feasible stuff (software-only):
  • Basic autopilot. C'mon, every other Tesla is capable of this but the CT.
  • Permanent on-screen rearview mirror (turn signal shows blind spot camera, rearview disappears)
  • +1 on Load mode for the air suspension. Seems like a no-brainer.

Harder stuff:
  • Popout rear window for heating the bed/modified Cybertent to take advantage
  • Digital rearview mirror tied into factory Tesla hardware
  • Auto-closing tailgate
  • "Plaid" upgrade kit: performance brakes, wheel/tire package.
The harder stuff seems like a pipe dream, however Tesla did offer an automatic open/close retrofit kit for early Model 3 trunks. I could see the 2025+ CT get upgrades that eventually get offered as retrofit options to our trucks.

Similarly, Tesla offers a brake upgrade and performance wheel/tire package for other performance models. I'd love to see one for the Cybertruck.
