Until the configurator is open, there's no one at Tesla to fix it. If you have your initial email, it'll be there.

I'm all for the incentives to move to electrics but I'm not sure if they will benefit me.
All of my income is non-taxable except my military retirement which is taxed by the Fed but not my state.
My wife does not work so with the deductions allowed for a married couple we never have to pay state or Federal taxes and generally get everything I paid in on the military retirement back.
So is there a benefit for me? Is it like the Earned Income Credit where I would get back far more than I paid in?
Opinions?

I believe the most recent bill that is looking to probably make it through has the ev purchase credit removed. The only ev credits i could see were incentives for ev public transit buses and ferries, as well as incentives for expanding the charging network for vehicles by giving businesses and cities a credit for installing publicly accessible chargers.

I think there was also some money for ev tech innovation.

even a tri-motor and psd, that is still below 80k being 69 + 10 = 79......I dont think taxes are included in the cap
The $1,200 delivery fee could be, tho...

I ordered the DM CT, so I'm good either way. Like others, 10k to the good doesn't affect my purchasing decision but it would REALLY skew the TCO estimates from "hands down better value" to "why TF would anyone buy anything else?!"

I'm mentally at the latter already, but it'd be great to have the financial justification to be even stronger (it's already strong).

The EV credits are separate from the Infrastructure bill.

No assurance it will pass, but they aren't part of the bigger bill authorizing spending on charging stations and roads.

Why wouldn't you have the email on the server in this day and age?

Anyhow, I'm sure it won't be an issue.

That's Biden's plan, yes. A $10k one. (7.5k for BEV, plus 2.5k for American made.) There's also rumors of being able to get it as a markdown at point of sale.

Different states also have incentives, too.

And, if it has a limit like the last one, will it even last long enough to be applied to the CT. I might have to just order a model Y- not going to pass on free 10k credit.

I was thinking the same.

With the most version of the bill incentives were supposed to last until a set percentage of new vehicles were EVs. I think it was like 50% or something.

Which would vastly favor Tesla which is cranking out a million plus EVs a year and will soon be cranking out 2 million a year.

There are two bills; the second one is pure tax/spending alterations, so it only needs 50 votes. The first bill needs to pass the 60 vote threshold (based upon the last Senate's rules).

Biden's plan is for the credit to not fade out until the US fleet is 50% EV. Which is still too early, if you ask me, but way longer than it should take to get our trucks.

The most recent bill being evaluated was supposed to last until a set percentage of new vehicles were EVs.

It was to be phased out over 3 years after 50% of the manufacturers total sales are EV.

But as mentioned.. this has been removed from the current infrastructure bill, so everyone is getting too excited about this current bill passing for the wrong reason.

You mentioned it has been moved to its own separate bill. This is the bill I was able to find where they moved it to:
https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th...arch":["electric+vehicle+purchase"]}&s=2&r=15

Unfortunately, there has been no action on this bill except introduction. So this revision of tax credit for EV purchases which would reopen to new Telsa purchases is a wish currently, which will need to be revisited by most on here at a later date.
