Yes, Tesla failed with at home charging with the CT. I have the old 80amp wall charger and wired it to 100amp breakers and truck only goes to 48 no matter wjat you throw at it. Sad, i was anticipating the higher amp ability for the truck.
I suspect they got a little scared about the potential risks of drawing a continuous 80 amps for hours on residential circuits. Since that had required dual chargers in the car, lowering it to one 48A charger saved cost, space, weight and complexity as well.

Easily doable with homes having a 200amp supply, 80 amp draw for 4 hrs is nothing. Just really sucks. 6hrs charge time at home instead of 3 really blows

Good to know the max is not much higher than what I can already do. For my needs, I can use a supercharger on rare occasions; double my max rate won’t be a game changer, but it’s nice to have a 32A, 240v option. 40 or 48 A isn’t much of an improvement.
48A is 50% more than 32A. On level 2 chargers I've used it's the difference of around 14/15mph to 22/23mph. The Cybertruck just doesn't get as many miles out of the same number of Watts. The 22 is pretty good if you are shopping or dining, but the lower doesn't usually have a chance to add a lot so almost not worth plugging in if it isn't a really convenient spot where you're likely to be a while. It's still perfectly fine for overnight at home or destination charging though.

Not all residential wiring is created equal. EVs have mostly required add-ons to older homes that never anticipated such draws, unlike new construction that can be designed to accommodate them.

Right and that's not Teslas problem. So just keep it at 80amp each Line and call it good. Right?

The negative media of house fires is definitely a Tesla problem even if not their fault. I had a good conversation with the lead electrician doing my whole solar + charger project back in the day and still felt more comfortable that the setup was well over 50' from my house even though that cost a lot more to run the cabling. Too many horror stories.

Looking forward to seeing the result, I think, not optimistic.

I had been hoping Tesla would offer something to foundation customers after the fact as a good will gesture. This is their perfect opportunity for that.
They keep sending us recalls, what more could you want? ?

I’m hoping for that too! I might actually just trade mine in and get one of these inventory ones with free supercharging.

100% for what you're replying to, my post....but what? 12 hrs to charge the truck? Never has anyone experienced that not even with the supplied 32amp. Lol. Maybe if anyone was dumb enough to use 120 volt. That would be hilarious dudet? ?

Are you sure? I just put it for charging and changed the limit to 100%. It takes 11 hours to charge at 48A.
