I suspect they got a little scared about the potential risks of drawing a continuous 80 amps for hours on residential circuits. Since that had required dual chargers in the car, lowering it to one 48A charger saved cost, space, weight and complexity as well.Yes, Tesla failed with at home charging with the CT. I have the old 80amp wall charger and wired it to 100amp breakers and truck only goes to 48 no matter wjat you throw at it. Sad, i was anticipating the higher amp ability for the truck.
