Yes, that’s right… it’s a southbound Gigapress.

oh I sure hope it doesn’t encounter a NORTH bound gigapress.

Joe Tegtmeyer's video from today kinda gives a great clue as to whether the 4th giga press is for CT or for MY.

As you can see the huge beams that arrived on the 10th are in the second assembly line in the casting area. They are way bigger beams for bridge crane than what is over the existing MY giga press line. The new IDRA giga press boxes that arrived yesterday are being disassembled in line after 3rd giga press on the MY assembly line under the smaller bridge crane.

This would suggest the 4th press is completing 2 full sets of MY giga presses. The huge beams are being installed for the even bigger bridge crane over the 2nd line of presses (closest to the outer wall near the main parking lot) with the ground support all ready for the first pair of 8k giga presses to the south of where the new beams are being installed.

So they are getting ready for the 8k press delivery by prepping the bridge crane for that new line. This makes sense as they have 1 bridge crane for each vehicle. All giga presses for a model are in a straight line.

Since there is space for 3 lines of presses in the casting area, we might see a 3rd assembly line (in the back closest to the paint shop) for a yet to be determined model with new castings, or possibly castings for the Semi? Haven't heard if they plan on making giga casts for the semi or not?

It is so amazing how much access Tesla allows to their facilities. It’s unprecedented.

FAA rules. You don’t own your airspace.

they just need to stay below 400 feet.

All of this is indoors. Most factories don’t have huge windows with unobstructed views. It’s not that hard to block windows temporarily.

Most companies don’t allow this sort of thing.

I’m also fairly sure he needs to be on Tesla’s private property to get at least some of this footage. You need line of site to the drone.

FAA rules say you can control your airspace the drones fly in. If Tesla requested, it could be a no-drone zone.

You don't control the airspace above that, though.

“Too Early”

How do you figure? It’s not as if they are ahead of schedule here.

Another possibility I hadn’t thought of is a pair of Gigapresses for the Model 3. They had talked about producing the Model 3 out of Texas at one point but it wasn’t clear how it would work.
IMO they are not ready to start CyberTruck production.

I sure as heck wish they were, but we have been disappointed before.

It just seems like CT production is not happening before JAN 2023.

Well right now most assume end of year, so not a big gap in timing.

Personally, I’m in wait-and see mode. Its January. Last January there was basically no factory, yet we‘re seeing Model Ys rolling off the line. Slowly and beta but they are coming and production should start soon. They are much further along on getting the Cybertruck production started.

Of course they have more new processes to get the Cybertruck online, but they have most of a year to get that figured out.

When we see Cybertruck beds in a dumpster and more than a couple beta trucks in the wild, we’ll know they are getting close.

Ooo... There will be an external way to tell the structural battery pack, though:

A couple of observations.
1. That is an incredibly smooth underside!
2. The 4680 batteries are coming soon, (if they aren't already here).
3. Patience can be rewarding.
