My current timeline since I dropped it off on the 10th. What’s crazy is it seems like we all failed at roughly the same time to make me think maybe an update was the cause. But who knows.
yep! I still think Tesla pushed an update to 'motivate' people into getting their PCS swapped out quicker due to imminent failures that were identified across a sizeable VIN range.

Are you accounting for people like me who haven't had a PCS failure and don't repeatedly make new posts highlighting their PCS failure?
Curious if previous thought is true that most (all?) failures are due to 48amp charging. Are you charging at 48amps?

I charge at 48A daily (except Supercharging) for 2 years now.

PCS failures are absolutely caused by saying "Cybertruck" in the mirror 3 times

I too charge daily off my wall connector. Only supercharge when out of town or 1-2 times a month since I have free supercharging . Kinda wasteful to not use it.

My second PCS failure happened today right as I was leaving for a work event. Currently at a supercharger on my way home, but I haven’t gotten an update or anything like that so I guess this one is on me 🤷🏼‍♂️

What I mean is I haven’t seen a reported failure charging at below 48amps. I don’t claim to have seen all that reports either.

@mongo / @HaulingAss

I was one of a few that reported Tesla was supposedly aware when it comes to tracking specific VINs. The way that two sep service reps explained it to me was that there was a "bulletin", which sounds a lot like an internal ticket or sev of some sort. They both told me independently that only the "engineers" know which vins have been flagged and it's not as simple as a flat range.

They claimed that anyone with suspected problem vins would be notified but that doesn't seem to be how a vast majority of these are going down.

Either way, they confidently told me that my VIN was not flagged as part of the bulletin as it wasn't coming up when they checked my vehicle etc. We'll seeeeeee

Wait so you already replaced your original PCS and this one failed too? Was the first replacement the latest revision?

No, my second PCS bank finally failed so I can no longer charge at home - still waiting on parts

Just read that it’s the first 75k VIN with those PCS. mine is 49k VIN Nov 2024.

I charge nightly at home off a 30amp dryer plug using a Tesla mobile charger. I pull 32amps when charging. PCS failed at 29k miles. Oct 2024 build. NonFS AWD 41xxx VIN. I think I’ve charged 3 times on 48amps, all at hotel destination chargers. So it’s not a 48amp thing for me at least.

I don’t think it’s isolated to any vin range
Here’s a possible PCS failure on recently built 93XXX VIN with only 500 miles.
Well, the lord giveth and the lord taketh away. My truck just threw this error while charging and then promptly bricked in my driveway. I suspect it’s a PCS failure. I saw some weird shadow codes in Tessie related to the PCS during the last charging session as well. They are coming with the flat bed. 500 miles on the truck 😄
