Yes, that would be depressing, but it is nothing compared to how I would feel if they drop the range below 500 miles, which MDR suggested. He says that he is a truck guy, but he said that 350 miles of range is all anyone needs. These statements don't make sense to me. Sure, a 'real' 350 miles would be fine, but that would be after 20%-80% effective range, winter weather consideration, and payload consideration. If like all the other Tesla cars, 'his' (EPA) 350 miles goes to 210. The winter factor takes it down another 30% (from my experience this past winter Model Y road trip), to 147, and whatever hit we would take for payload would be added to that. I suspect we wouldn't get more than 120 miles with any real payload in the winter. That is a joke and any truck person should agree. That said, I could see Tesla doing that to us and for the first time since all of this began I am seeing a show stopper for me. 500 EPA is really a threshold number for me."

well dont forget that the CT will be using about 375-475kWh....and on a 350 mile range CT with weather, rain and snow and cold weather, good luck

I will say I'm bummed about the prospect of lacking a display behind the steering wheel. The earlier prototypes had one.

My brief experience driving a Tesla was in a Model 3, and kept looking under the wheel to check my speed. It's perfectly visible on the center screen but I prefer to just glance downward.
It's a learned behavior, you'll get used to it. Maybe it's better, nobody is typically willing to create something truly new and innovative even though our technology has dramatically changed over the years.

yes I think he later tweeted or commented on YT a correction to 75

If thats the case, these are the tires my entire fleet runs (though a little smaller) once the factory stuff is used. Couldn’t recommend any 3 peak rated tire any more for people wanting a smooth, nearly dead silent option for a tire that is a super grippy road & wet tire that will impress you outside hardcore off road or real mud (which is why every truck has a winch. Winches last much longer than MTs do). Our F150s get 70-75k miles out of them as well. Very very hard to beat this tire in value terms.

a similar line of thinking is where my mind goes when I start to hear suggestions that the CT will be a class 4 GVWR but on only 4 tires (rather than Dually) and fitting them within the CT’s wheel wells or on 18s

this isn’t my lane, but I start wondering - even if the suspension exists for it - what manufacturer-provided tires is Tesla going to outfit the CT with to get class 4 certification?

Four years ago I sought help from my ophthalmologist for my “floaters” obscuring my vision. She told me I’d “get used to it”.

I'm still waiting.

Best way to tell would be F rating on tires from factory but we run Es on 1T 350s even duallys but the 450s are all F

They have plenty of solutions, FD deals with this kind of stupid all the time.

What your truck looks like when they are done might not excite you though.

Im just having thoughts of them trying to cut through the steel and giga castings and doing it fast enough that A you dont die from lack of O2 or blood flow or B you dont die from out of control panic. Just the thought gives me claustrophobia

Not to highjack but I’ve recently got some of those. Haven’t explored treatment yet. Cause/prognosis?

Could disapear after 6 months, due to age about 60 year old usually. No treatment except vitrectomy

Batteries are not ready for 500 miles of range?

You are correct
If I were to guess I would guess that the 4680 performance will be ready this year. The Limiting Factor seemed to think they would rival the 2170 performance in the second generation and they appear to be between the second and third generation now. Way back when someone guessed that the CT, having a similar size, weight, and drag coefficient to the Model X, would get a similar battery efficiency. If that is true it is definitely possible for the CT to get a 500 mile range. Of course, this was all hashed out after Battery Day but I think it is worth keeping in mind now.
