"Wireless charging for something as far off the ground as the CT is silly.” He stated that to compensate for the truck’s height, the wireless base station would need to be at least 6 inches tall, which is an impractical and clumsy solution for a home garage or public charging station. Wes went on to mention that Tesla never took wireless charging on the Cybertruck past a prototype due to the air gap reducing efficiency.

I know many here thought it would in the future.

Aren’t there ports down there for it? I think they planned it but in real world use it just didn’t work as efficiently as expected. A cord will always be more efficient. Bummer.

The plug will be more efficient. It just sucks because there will be wireless chargers installed for the Cybercab and we won't get to use them.

Yes, the pack has a port that was originally called out in the service manual for inductive charger.

Cord still goes through inductive coupling in the converter.

The walls of the garage would keep most people mostly centered... You'd think... I kept an extension ladder on the floor in the middle of my garage bay and just parked my F-150 over it. It's not like I could hit it without also hitting the wall. LOL

Yeah, could swing load it like a fifth wheel plate. But only if you back in...

You know, I’m kind of tired of hearing about all of the things that we don’t need and obviously should never have thought we were going to get.

This one doesn’t seem that complicated to me. Just put the inductive charging pad on a robotic lift and have it raise and lower based on which Tesla I have parked over it! It should be seamless for me and the charger should auto adjust flush (as much as possible) when not in use and raise to the most appropriate height for the vehicle sitting on top of it (w/ real time knowledge of what suspension setting is in place for those that have adjustable suspension) when in use.

I know, I know, added expense— but, come on man, we’re talking about living in the future!

“Your truck is too high, don’t be stupid,” doesn’t cut it for me.

Inductive charging wastes too much power. I'd never use it over a plug.
I would agree with you if they still had the freaky looking snake robot thing that they were going with at first, but, since they’ve abandoned that and this is the way that they plan to automate it; I’ll accept the losses for inductive charging so long as I’m out of the process.

Car drives home opens the garage parks and charges itself until I’m ready for it to come and get me. That’s the future that I’m expecting. I guess the alternative is that Optimus does all of this and plugs in the car as well. 🤷🏾

Yup! Gotta find some use for that robot around the house.

I think Tesla isn't much worried about a vehicle they may not ever sell 100k of in the grand scheme of things. It's a low demand, low production item compared to the 3/Y and even lower compared to what they think they will produce with the Cybercabs.

We know for the foreseeable future the only RTs will be owned by Tesla. Elon said they haven't even thought about personal owned RTs and how they will work at this point.

Fair points.
