Does anyone know when the production year changes from 2026 to 2027
I almost struck a deal late last year for a 2026 RWD Cybertruck from an individual who won the truck in a contest.

Thankfully the deal didn‘t pan out but the build date was September, 2025. The window sticker showed it was a 2026 model. I am assuming this year will be the same.

Personally I would not like getting a late 2026 on the cusp on when 2027 models start production.

Feb 20 order RN127133xxx No Vin Southern CA... Today I looked at my Tesla assist App and it changed my order date it said Feb21 order date, previously it said Feb 20th and the docs say Feb 20th... Tesla Assist screen capture from June 19th says Estimated Delivery Window July 12 August 23rd.... Today Tesla Asist says Oct 16 - Dec 11th... What kind of Musk madness is this?

Your RN# aligns with some of the other 2/20 order dates we're tracking.

As far as "What kind of Musk madness is this?".... the answer is in your question. :)

i think the most accurate photo for all of this is the claw game. It seems like VIN's are just randomly assigned.

My delivery dates disappeared a few days ago. I assume this thing won't show up until well into next year.

Only nice thing about the timeline is it gives me more time to see if Slate can actually deliver compelling vehicles. I am weighing trading my M3P for a SAWD against keeping the M3P and picking up a barebones Slate truck in addition.

I give Slate credit for diving into a tough EV market but every time I see one, my mind conjurs up this image:

Tesla doesn’t really do things by model year. They change things weekly if it suits them. I have heard they start to switch the year on paperwork late in November, but I’ve always bought spring Teslas, so I can’t say for certain.
I think most interested in a 27, are interested in HW5. If HW4 is any indication, it made its first appearance in late Feb of 2023. So getting a ‘27 won’t guaranty ‘27 goodies.
HW5 won't be in cars for a long time. Elon has stated that they are for the optimius robots first. I'm guessing another 3-4 years minimum seeing as they haven't even started manufacturing the robots. They might do a HW4.5 or something equivalent, but there are no reports saying anything other than HW4 will exist for the foreseeable future.

Yes, though I am not sure that is directly offered in the app. I was originally set up to take delivery in NW Austin. I texted (in the app) a while back requesting delivery be shifted to the delivery center across the street from the Gigafactory where the truck is made. Hoping to schedule a Friday delivery and combine delivery with a factory tour. They only do the tours on Friday.
I was wondering if you can switch at the questions 3~9 or so in the app .... ?

Step 5 (Schedule delivery) might allow it, but I can't confirm. The start button on that screen is still greyed and inactive, despite the fact that I have been able to complete steps 6 and 7.

I can confirm that my 2026 build quality is TIGHT. No dash rattles, squeaks, wind noise, loose door noises, etc.

I purposely avoided buying a used 24-25 Premium due to early build quality issues. It’s definitely better screwed together than my Premium test drive unit and the Cyberbeast courtesy loaner that I had for 2 days due to a warranty repair.

I think they go by calendar year of production but could be wrong

I have a late 2024 build (November) and it is a 2024 (not 2025 like other manufacturers)

At the time I was debating getting a build from a few weeks later so I would have a 2025 but tesla took $4500 off this one because it was in inventory so that made the deal for em

I agree. Oklahoma roads are rough. If you don’t have any rattles, drive around here and you will find a few. 😃😃

That said, I have 1785 miles and still no rattles. Love getting into a nice cool vehicle at 5:00 pm when the outside temp is 90+. Sit back, relax, punch in take me home and off goes the CT. Even backs up to the charger in my driveway.
