my issue is that my latch won't shut flat no matter how much pressure I put on it.

anyone else or am I not doing something correctly?

it should definitely go flat when you push it all the way down (assuming the connectors are aligned on both sides of it in the vault)

I know this response is months late but I have the same or similar issue. I had to literally kick down hard on the top to get both sides to seat. The bed height too high or the divider too tall. Didn't want to grind the bottom of the divider so I took to service. They sent a new one - same issue. I took a pipe wrench and carefully did a scary slight bend on the outer latch downward. This helped mine, but it doesn't seem like Tesla engineering allowed for normal fitment tolerance.

I had the same thing. Ordered the divider before I got my CT. Received it before I got my CT. THen I get an email from Tesla telling me that they found and issue with the one I ordered, and they were sending a replacement. Before I received the replacement, I tried my original and could not install it past the first 1/3 of the bed. Got my new one and the exact same thing. I emailed Tesla and they saw I had a service appointment for today and told me to take both to the service center and show them. I did and they agreed that it was an issue. Waiting to see what happens when I go to pick it up. Hopefully, I get a new one and everything gets fixed ( had a nice sized list of issues ). The replacement was exactly like my first one. The first one did NOT have the complete circles for pegs as I understood this was the issue. But I think the issue is the feet on the divider. They wont go flush against the bed past the 1/3 front part of the bed.

Many (most?) of the bed plastic currently out in the wild have a slight bow in them.
I took mine to service and they agreed so they ordered a brand new bed plastic and unfortunately the new one has the same bow.
It is very minute and you likely would never notice it unless you got a bed divider!

Not sure how they will fix this but there are 2 options: a) fix the bottom of the divider to have a slightly larger tolerance for variations in the bed; b) recall the beds and replace them with fully flat ones.

I bought this bed divider net today. I’m thinking it will fit perfect right behind the trunk easy to unhook for larger items, but provides a barrier for smaller loads, like groceries. Got this hold-down net too.

it's a shame that this is still an issue with the new divider. The fix is quite easy from a manufacturing standpoint. They just have to increase the distance from the bottom of the rubber feet to the bottom of the aluminum part of the divider so that it can clear the bed liner. Someone took a bandsaw to the bottom of theirs to get it to fit, but I might try a dremel so that I can just cut the sections where the bed divider would touch. It's a really useful accessory in theory, but it needs to be designed the right way to allow for the large tolerance in the bed liner height.

Service center tried switching out the bed on me, but it was still bowed in the middle. Eventually they reached out to engineering, and they "adjusted bedside wall assembly", now my divider works all along the bed.

Any update? I just received my divider yesterday is this issue persists. In my case it is off almost 1/4" and no amount of sitting on it or kicking it will get it to engage the bed rails. Same from the tailgate to the cabin.

Completely irrelevant, but I just got my divider yesterday and alignment was not perfect, even with the bed liner out of the way. I just set mine in place where the bins were secure, pushed the handle down (not overly difficult, but pins are not locked into rail holes), and I’m good with it lol.

I have the same issue. It seems that the rear part of the bed plastic cover is not properly tightened down and is sitting a bit higher than the front portion. This elevation difference doesn’t allow for the vault divider to properly latch into place
