The pictures are stunning. I can't wait to get one.
I had the same thoughts. Very exciting times.

On the flip side, this is when those who are most threatened by the release of Cybertruck start to go off the deep end with hate, fake narratives and just general loss of rational control. Always entertaining to watch the cretins bend over backwards to spread their hate with every new model released by Tesla. No other cars are as threatening to existing interests, so no other brands get nearly the amount of hate as Tesla.

Folks have elsewhere pointed out the frunk’s interior open/close button

note the UI’s tailgate button, re-confirming (for those somehow still dubious), that the tailgate is just a lowering-assisted gate, not motorized

also, this is a late (eg 800-series) MC, tri-motor … of which there are only a few

and this one appears to be out in California

either Tesla has recently relaxed its rules around the drivers allowing photos of the interior/UI, the driver didn’t know this was happening (left the truck unlocked and powered up?), or Tesla’s info sec will have a pretty easy time determining who is on the naughty list

Looks more like the emergency release.

An electric motor, especially ones with permanent magnets, can become a generator when rotated (towed). That generator voltage is higher at higher speeds and can wreck havoc to the motor drive electronics or be in regen. braking. The reason one should not tow EV’s at any speed except to position them on truck beds.
There is nothing preventing cars with electric motors from having a flat tow mode. It's apparently just not very high on Tesla's "to do" list. The car does need to be powered on when it's towed faster than walking speed.

How do you think Tesla cars deal with the situation where someone lives on top of a mountain and leaves home with 100% charge because they are going on a long trip. There is not even a warning to caution against doing this.

well, it *is* an emergency release if you’re locked in the (7cuft) Frunk

but it’s a powered button, that can also be used to lower the Frunk if standing at it (without having to reach down to the central bumper button)

I imagine that they will turn off the regen and use the brakes. I also think the 100% may not be really 100% and the regen energy may be used to power heaters or heat pumps.

I agree. There is another video where a woman clearly pushes a button below the front lip of the frunk to close it. All trunks/frunks have to have an emergency release if someone is trapped inside, so it makes sense that the button on the side is to satisfy that requirement.

Are you sure? I would suspect an emergency illuminated button would only open when pressed. Not sure you'd want it to toggle, there's a button in the front bumper area for the open/close command.

Heat.

There is no thermal management when powered off, and the magnets will demagnetize beyond a certain temperature.

Towing a powered-on Tesla is... not recommended. I guess you could stick a driver in there, but that's not towing, that's "tethered tandem driving"

Source? ;)

Seriously tho, doesn't the "emergency" escape mechanism need to be physical? A pushbutton requires power.

I assume the interior button will not activate when in motion, so that an unsecured load (or escaping prisoner) cannot obscure the driver's view.

No Teslas can be flat towed, because it will destroy the motors. It may be possible if the CT includes a clutch on each motor to disengage it from the wheels, but color me skeptical.
I've actually seen a Tesla being towed to do regen charging on YT. Not good?
