Can you post picture of yours please? I got mine done a while back right after the updated process and they did use the new process to put mine on. Its been rock solid and ive driven 200KPH+ for long stretches to test it.
Have you been through a car wash?

I got my FS Beast last August and I've managed to wait this long because, frankly, uncovered lightbars are illegal in Maryland. So... Anyway, I'm on hold right now because they are "waiting on parts".
I added Cant rail recall to my service ticket so I don't know if it's the rails or light that is causing this delay. Either way, when I scheduled, the app said it would be 24 days to get an appointment so no harm, no foul.
If you set the light percentage to 1%, and is no longer a light bar, but just DRLs

LOL... That'd be hard to explain... I think I'll just try to not get pulled over.

"But officer, it will only activate if I put the truck in Offroad mode and then only up to 20 mph."

Took my Cyberbeast in today for service. They finally got the new lightbars in.

They are still glueing them to the windshield but they've redesigned the lightbar itself so it matches the curvature of the windshield. They also have some kind of weight to hold down the bar for a signifcant amount of time during the curing process. Hoping for the best!
This is the same redesign answer that I received concerning an actual revision to the light bar. It was not just the new revised application method. I will ask again on Monday when I am having follow-up service for a miss-aligned tonneau cover when they replaced the missing slat. I will see if they have any updated news on seeing any light bars that actually have been revised. I understand that Wes apparently said it was not being revised, but it's hard to know what the real answer is since my service center got their answer from engineering as well.

There was a CT in the lot with the new lightbar on it, but I didn't think to go look at it up close.

Did they give you an update on when they can complete your lightbar installation?

My lightbar is scheduled a couple weeks out with the cantrails, new phone charger, new slat in the bed, and a camera cleaning. This is my first service. They have not issued a loaner vehicle and I live an hour away. Is it normal for them to not provide a loaner?

Send them a chat message for a loaner. I was in the same boat, try to schedule your apt for first thing in the morning on Mondays, that’s when they have the most loaners available

Thank you TeslaKen for the latest from bringing up this question to engineering last Saturday on this confusion regarding why there was a hold on new lightbar installs. It does seem strange to me that Tesla would not have better communication with all of the service center managers on this. It seems sometimes that we know more about what is going on than they do. Maybe the whole story will eventually make sense. The "new procedure" story has been out there for quite sometime before engineering asked for this recent pause in installs. Maybe it was just a problem at particular service centers. I will let you know anything new I hear regarding my lightbar install delay when the smoke totally clears down to the service center level.
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it 1000 times— do not listen to folks at the service center as the final word on something.

They often don’t know and unfortunately folks are willing to make things up or just misconstrue things.

But when you think about this our best guest is there are about 3000 to 3500 foundation series cybertrucks. The light bar was supposed to be designed as a exclusive for those vehicles although someone has asserted that they have connected it to a non-foundation series CT I don’t know that we ever got final confirmation on that- but it doesn’t matter for my point.

There’s nothing wrong with the design of the light bar (though I think it could use a lot more lumens). The only thing has been wrong is the method by which they were fixing it to the windshield.

People who are convinced that they’re burning engineering time to re-engineer this thing to attach to the roof rack attachment point are out of their mind. That’s not just a change in design that’s a complete rethink of the approach. As I’ve said before if you look at this thing from the right angle it mirrors the design that was supposed to initially be under the glass that’s a design choice that they’re not going to undo for 5000 units or some number less than that because not everybody’s going to want it replaced with a roof at attaching variant (ie me). It’s nonsensical!

People have to apply some common sense to rumors that they hear to be able to sort from the wheat from the chaff.

Of course, now that I’ve put this rant in writing we will learn that Wes was wrong and, in fact, they are redesigning the whole truck so that attaches to the light bar better!!!

😂🤣😂🤣

I did the light bar trick, sent a request to the service to install the light bar, they came back they don’t have them, I asked when mine will be ready, 7 days later like magic the service center has my light bar and schedules an install. That was the easy part… the next part “might” be the confusion of a redesign or an update to how Tesla is handling the light bar. Here is what happen to me, I took the truck in, they installed the bar and handed me a three page installation of plugging the light bar in. In this it tells me to discharge the 48v system before plugging the bar in by using a specific service manual. In this it says to remove the fireman’s plug. (Way way overkills) so I follow the instruction to a tee, spend twenty minutes discharging the cars 48v system to plug a two prong light bar plug in…. This is where mine goes wrong. When I attempted to boot the system back up my CT glitched out. My removing the fireman’s plug it discharged the sensors alll the safety sensors and they would not come back on. So my truck has no traction control, no air bags, no regenerative breaking, no anti lock breaking, it was like driving a race car with very little breaks. I drove the truck to the service center, it took them 8 hours to get the truck back online. They had to discharge the system again didn’t work, so they pushed a firmware update to get the sensors to come back online. Once I had the truck back I asked the service center why I had to go through so many steps to plug a light bar in and he said “I don’t know why Tesla gives these papers out, this is not the first time this has happen” I said couldn’t I just have plugged the wires in? He said yes! So Tesla being Tesla has created a worse situation by not plugging the light bar in then if they just finished the job at the shop and handed back a safe vehicle. It is my opinion Tesla is attempting to resolve a huge safety issue with the secondary step of having a customer plug a light bar in and causing the vehicle to be extremely dangerous to drive. Personally I thought it was very fun, wheels would smoke when I punched it 😂 but I wouldn’t let my wife drive it. By the time I got to the Tesla center the breaks were smelling trying to stop the truck with no regenerative breaking. Super unsafe but fun as hell!

I had mine done in June and it’s already falling off.

I know you're kidding, but the regulatory issue is, in part, the height of the lightbar from the ground.
