Ogre and Crissa are both claiming they coined BAW. who do i send the nickle to?

😅
Oh boy, looks like we have a conflict. Maybe we should create a poll to find out who royalties go to?

Yup, for most of the 100 years they did not worry about the aerodynamic drag because gas was cheap and their priority was keeping manufacturing cost down for increased profits no matter how many people were adversely affected by the pollution their vehicles emitted.

This thinking is exactly why GM killed the EV1 in year 2002 and delayed EVs adoption for almost 20 years.

The only reason to write a hit piece on BAW is that it will be hard to miss ;)

Anything CT is an automatic click. I wouldn't be surprised if there is an AI whose only responsibility is scraping the web including this forum to come up with phrases, words and abbreviations with higher chance of getting a click. It is not 24 hours yet and we have three pages on this already. BAW article is already a success when it comes to engagement.

Dude, I literally coined the term.

And lots of trucks and busses have one, big wiper.

The problem with this article is that it forgets the windshield of the Cybertruck is a giant square. All that's behind that corner is the sun visor.

-Crissa

First BAW on forum, https://www.cybertruckownersclub.com/forum/threads/cybertruckk-windshield-wiper.4667/post-87301

Tho... Apparently Ogre did call it the non-shortened term first: https://www.cybertruckownersclub.co...-mirrors-curved-windshield-glass-dec-10.4283/
Fair enough. I was referring to the phrase not the acronym. (Even though I used the acronym)

It just cracks me up because it’s crept outside of this forum.

It seems like a pretty standard issue with trying to wipe a rectangular area using an arc.

I don’t really care about the Giant Booty Squeegee^TM

but what on earth are those photos you posted? Looks like someone put mini-wipers on their vehicle for fun

but yeah, passenger visibility always takes a hit, when in the trenches

super dumb article

The first jeep-like vehicle I drove in the Army was the M151A1. It had vacuum operated windshield wipers. When driving with the accelerator to the floorboards (as in up a hill) the wipers would shut down due to insufficient vacuum. So they had these little handle doo-dads inside the vehicle that you could use to manually wipe the windshield. There was no great hue and cry about endangering our young American soldiers, so they stayed that way until the introduction of the M151A2 with electric wipers and larger turn signals and tail lights. The A1s continued in use until they died.

Perhaps we need some auxiliary hand-operated wipers in those areas (as shown below) not covered by the BAW. That way, the passenger can have something to do when they complain about a little non-wiped area of the windshield on their side.
