Per Elon Musk:

Apologies to those expecting Cybertruck deliveries in California over the next few days. We need to use those trucks as mobile base stations to provide power to Starlink Internet terminals in areas of LA without connectivity. A new truck will be delivered end of week.

We are going to position Cybertrucks with Starlinks and free WiFi in a grid pattern in the areas that most need it in the greater LA/Malibu area

Also:

Cybertrucks are also being used as battery banks for Altadena Mountain Rescue.

NEWS: Tesla has donated multiple Cybertrucks to be utilized as battery banks for Altadena Mountain Rescue at their station until power is restored.
This is where the 14,200-acre Eaton Fire is currently raging in LA.
Altadena Rescue: "This will greatly help the team to power radios, computers, and lights as we work into the dark."

I literally took delivery of our CyberBeast on Jan 5th in Spokane, WA and made it back to Malibu on the night of Jan 7th after the fires started. We lost our home in the 2018 Woolsey Fire and have been living in trailers because of Unconstitutional California Coastal Commission insane environmental obstructionism. Their ESHAs (Environmentally Sensitive Habitat Areas) are Superhighways of unmanaged Fuel for arsonists and powerline fires! @DOGE Abolish the Unconstitutional CA Coastal Commission! Thank You ELON for your products to improve and enhance life on the Earth and hopefully Mars too?

What a bunch of crybabies. No sympathy for the severely crushed individuals. You complainers are a bunch of self centered narcissists who should donate the use of your CT’s to those in need.
Time to grow up PUSSIES.

Are you sure most of you are men? I think not. Look between your legs to see if I am correct.

Updated with videos:

Here's a Cybertruck convoy being delivered by Musk.

I don't know about all the Cybertrucks but it does mention : " Tesla has donated multiple Cybertrucks to be utilized as battery banks for Altadena Mountain Rescue at their station until power is restored." above. Altadena Mountain Rescue Team is a 501(c) (Nonprofit). They give Tesla a receipt for the donation. Tesla can then submit that on the tax return to the IRS. However I don't believe Tesla has paid a dime to the IRS yet and unless Tesla does for 2025 it won't get anything for the donation. But yes the IRS has provision for Tax write offs on charitable donations.
'Until' usually means they expect them back, and hence, not a write-off. Depending upon the miles put on them, they might not even stop being new stock.

think Tesla is offering a helping hand for a tax deduction?
The slurs aren't helpful.

But why would you be upset to discuss how tax write-offs work?

In my limited experience, in-kind donations of services are more difficult to write off.

However, there are provisions for tax benefits to help make sure companies and people are not hindered by being charitable. It's a win-win-win-win situation bandaging over a loss.
  1. (for those being helped)
  2. (for people who like seeing others helped)
  3. (companies aren't hurt for doing so)
  4. (it encourages less charitable to be charitable so the government doesn't have to spend as much)
Why be offensive about it? It's great seeing Tesla engage with the public this way; and even better to see Elon posting about something that's not him being wrong about something.

Yeah. But you can't always have a Natural Disaster when you need some Advertising....;)
Between natural and man-made (conflicts where Starlink terminals may be appropriate) disasters, the supply is if not quite steady, unfortunately all too close to steady.

Every Cybertruck is a mobile charger.

They could use 1 truck to shuttle to a Supercharger and bring power back to the stationary ones.

Or swap out trucks as they run low.

How long can it keep operating a Starlink panel? The new portable Starlinks are compatible with the low voltage system, aren't they?

Considering Powershare can supply my whole house for ~3 days, I would think Starlink could run for weeks on 120kWh.

So a single truck could easily top-off a dozen or so others a day, without interruption in service.

This is amazing by Elon, and thank you for those waiting to pick these up. Your patience in taking delivery is saving lives of those in need. These poor people have lost everything and have no means.

Where would we be without Elon and Starlink? Southern California has lost all communications and Starlink has saved the day. God Bless Elon.

So Happy Tesla Innovation invented PowerShare from a vehicle. Amazing.
