If the tax incentive hit the dual motor variant (good chance it will) then the saving will be in the 10s of thousands. There's really nothing special to the foundation series other than getting it early.
You are correct. I should have waited and saved $30k then rented the FSD when I needed it. Got it all wrong this time.

Foundation still available. Going .... Going ....

Glad I got mine. Of course next year when they add cool new stuff that was not available on the foundation series I will be bummed. Fifth wheel maybe, four motor 1000hp version maybe, more range maybe, factory polished maybe, who knows.
More range would be my only regret at this point. I feel like I did with the first iPhone x1000 every time I drive it.

Getting it early seems pretty worth it to me ?.

Minor but worth noting:
  • Squircle says "airbag"on the right side next to the horn
  • Silver is different on squircle
  • No foundation badging on the sides
  • Lower center console no longer has silver inlay
  • No more bed rings

This is the point, but also weird; why would Tesla look at the truck and think, hmmm, let's get rid of the bed rings?! They're well known for just s/w disabling features to add perceived value to the higher models. Just seems like bed rings are a really odd choice.
Bed rings are a step at the factory. They're reducing steps at the factory, so it's kinda obvious thinking about it.

Definitely an accessory I'd get, but if they're just going to deliver them in a box, well, I can see why they didn't put them on the configuration list.

They didn't get rid of them, they stopped including 2 packs of them with the truck (total retail price: $80). Given there are 10 locations for floor d-rings, who knows if the default installation location were even where people wanted.

Mudflaps were never included with FS, so I picked up a set for $100... Now I have twice as many things to remove before off roading.
