I filled out the Powersharr request forms with QMerit on July 2 and have yet to be have my project assigned to a local provider. Strangely I have gotten 3 separate txt messages telling me there have been updates to my project in this time and yet no movement when checking on their website.

I did call this past Friday and was told they were going to try to expedite my request. I am in the Tampa, FL area for a geographical reference. I’m eager to get my setup going before hurricane season gets into full swing.

I was having same luck with them. Program is really scattered and I’m sure tesla has some fault in it too.

I took delivery on 7/1 and filled form out the next day. It took until today, 7/15 to get the local guy to come out and start the quote process….

I sent them an email pestering about it so maybe that helped. But my installer never handled a beast yet with the $4,000 credit. Then I was told I need to order and have the gateway stuff, which is back ordered currently until August on Tesla site.

Seems very scattered unfortunately, but it will get done eventually… ha

Same. We did have one installer come out, the quote was submitted via QMerit, but included some unnecessary line items. There's only 2 options when you get a quote, Accept or Decline. I assumed the latter would allow a comment to be added, but no, it's declined and it's gone forever! Another subcontractor was then assigned, but heard nothing since, it's been about a week.

Qmerit's website is almost great, but there's a few things that are super-annoying. As you say, Tesla are not blameless in their general vagueness and poor comms, so it's a bad combo. The first quote was from a sub-contractor of a contractor, so there's a lot of middle men, including QMerit that take a cut for the initial referral and quote handling. Hopefully I'll get it figured out before the TX grid caves.

I feel the same way, there’s a lot of people taking a cut. I’m Battling Qmerit now, if and when I can get my beast credit. Everyone is being quiet and not sure about it, my installer had not done any with the credit. I’m hoping people around the forum here have recently dealt with this.

But I share the frustration of many here, this is a three hour labor job at most and they’re charging $3000 or $4000. not including the parts, which we have voucher for but still.

An update of sorts...the integrator that QMerit introduced to me (Alliance Electrical) have been trying hard to figure out what's needed for my project, in light of the whole 1 hour training they received from Tesla(!), and extremely limited information from both Tesla and QMerit, although I think, in this case, Qmerit are the middle-man to get to Tesla, making things even more challenging.

Anyway, the latest is that QMerit has "confirmed" that for my project to go ahead, I need a 3rd Gen gateway, which is contrary to what Tesla has on their Powershare Product page:

Tesla Cybertruck Crickets from Qmerit since July 2 1721752208443-5k

I've sent Alliance the screenshot above, so now they'll go back through QMerit, to Tesla, and back again, and we'll see what the answer is(!) To be clear, Alliance have been great, and seem genuinely interested in making this work, but the information they're getting is ambiguous.

I’m also in the Tampa area and just received the email below.

After reviewing your survey, we’ve determined that your Cybertruck order is eligible for Powershare Home Backup installation.

We matched you with a Tesla Certified Installer who will reach out to you for a home assessment. Their contact information is provided below. As a reminder, your Cyberbeast order is also eligible to receive an installation credit of up to $4,000.*

To avoid installation delays, adhere to the following timelines:

  • Once your Tesla Certified Installer contacts you to schedule installation, respond within 21 days to prevent cancelation.
  • The quote you receive from your Tesla Certified Installer is valid for 1 month. Accept this quote within 1 month to prevent cancelation.
  • Complete your installation within 6 months of accepting your quote to prevent cancelation.

If your installation is canceled, you will no longer be eligible for this Powershare Home Backup equipment installation offer and will instead receive a Tesla Shop voucher.

Home Backup functionality is currently available for system configurations that do not already have a backed up solar system, Backup Switch or Powerwall. Functionality is expected to be available for all configurations later this year following a software update. In the meantime, you will still be able to charge your Cybertruck at home using Wall Connector.

I currently have third party solar and two Powerwalls. I was under the impression I did not need any other equipment.

When did you put your request to Qmerit in? No updates from me still when checking the system and no emails or txt message updates either.

7/23 initial email from them
7/24 Filled out survey and submitted
7/25 Received quote from sunlight solar
7/25 Notified Qmerit quote doesn’t account for my existing setup, was told contact sunlight solar
7/26 sunlight solar says they quoted on what qmerit told them. Advised qmerit
7/27 Qmerit automatic email to approve my quote

Qmerit is basically useless.

What is it that you need to purchase? Through the Tesla store? Does the 4k installation include the equipment needed? info might be helpful to us when that time comes.

Since I already have Powerwalls and a Gateway, I don’t need to purchase anything. Think they screwed up and sent me the forms to fill out and price the install of the PowerShare System in the Tesla shop which is the Gateway/Power transfer switch and a wall connector.

The PowerShare system is $2500, I am guessing it is sent to the installer but I am not sure. The $4k installation credit is towards the electrical contractor to install it, you would pay whatever is over it if they quote more then $4k.

Since I already have the equipment required per the PowerShare equipment page and the Help section on it, Tesla will send me a one time use credit of $2,500 to use in the Tesla shop rather then the gateway/charger.

Same result here. I think there having trouble finding certified electricians. Or they are training them.

Is it necessary to go through QMerit? I can't bypass them and find a certified installer on the Tesla site? Or is QMerit who does the survey and is therefore responsible once approved to assign you an installer?

Going through them is so inefficient:

This quote was revised by your assigned certified installer and now requires further review. Once this has been approved, you will be notified for final review and approval.
