No vehicle is 100% reliable. It looks like you missed the point.
And it looks like you're argumentative.

Do you think there's a higher percentage of "pull over now" cybertruck failures versus other new (any brand) model releases?

I love my CB, but I'm well aware it's a brand new platform and will be prone to rollout growing pains.

I don't have that data specific to the Cybertruck, do you?

I just know that going by forum reports is likely to lead to inaccurate perceptions, because those who have an error message are much more likely to visit a forum than people like me who have experienced zero problems. There are thousands of Cybertruck owners driving around out there with perfect reliability and we have a very small number of people who have reported a disabled Cybertruck.

When I bought my F-150 and joined the F-150 forum one would think everyone's windshield had cracked. But they were no weaker or more likely to crack than other model years, or other brands of trucks, it was simply that people needing a new windshield wanted to share their woes with other truck owners. They couldn't believe theirs had cracked so early in their ownership. Meanwhile, people without problems were out using their pickups every day.

If you go by regular forum participants, people who took delivery of a new Cybertruck and have thousands of posts, you will find a very low rate of disabled Cybertrucks. Most people reporting serious problems are not regular posters, until they had problems. It brings them out of the woodwork. And I'm sure at least a few of them are just made up by low post count members with no way to verify they even own a Cybertruck. These are the "me too" posters who just want to amplify the narrative that there are serious problems.

I've beat my Dual Motor really well on rough roads over the last 4+ months without a glitch (and it's out in the sun and rain, never seen a roof over its head that wasn't just tree branches). I have just as much confidence in the reliablity of my Cybertruck as I have in my 3 other Tesla, which is to say more than any gas car I've ever owned. And I've owned mostly reliable gas cars. I haven't even taken it in for the three pending recalls because they don't seem to be actual problems on my particular truck.

I only have anecdotal evidence, it's true. And I understand that happy CT owners aren't posting as much as those looking for help/info on an error. But, if there are 5 or 6 or 10 people on the forum who have experienced a "critical error detected" problem, that's still 5 or 6 or 10 out of the pool of ~25000 trucks, which seems like more critical drivetrain errors than there should be. And that's just those who bother to create an account and post here, so there's an unknown multiplier on the error count.

I'm guessing Edmunds didn't post about it here, but have you seen the latest Edmunds Cybertruck Review?

Don't get me wrong - I love the thing, and it's my most favorite thing to drive by far. I'm just not going to fully trust it until I get a few more thousand miles and a few more months on it along with all the other early adopters. I fully believe it'll be rock solid, but I also believe Tesla is still learning things and tweaking this brand new platform and build process.

This happened to me last week after an hour drive on a redlight. I was able to move to safe location, got out of the truck, waited for 10 mins and drove back 70 miles to Service Center. The technician thinks ot maybe firmware bug they decided to keep the truck and gave me a loaner.

it has been a week and I haven’t heard back from them yet, i am assuming it is part related and they don’t have the part in hand.

while enjoying my 2024 model s loaner with fsd, i am still hoping to get my truck back soon.

posting this for awareness.

Another update. Power Conversion System replacement didn’t fix it so they are continuing diagnostics.

Oh man, I am so sorry to hear that. Mine is just entered the 4th week at the service center. Master Technician is working on it. It says September 6 pickup but that has changed so many times, i still have no hopes.
Thanks for updating your case. I'll do mine too.

Well, that’s really nice customer service send you an Uber. I haven’t had any trouble with my cyber beast yet, but I had an issue with my new 2016 Ford F150 back in the day with less than 2k miles and they never sent me any Uber credits. But I did get a ride in the tow truck, So as with any new vehicle, you should always be slightly hesitant about taking long trips because stuff happens.

Hey i think this issue is so rare. I know all the other CT owners traveling and driving all the time. Even as we all know 3 owners went to Arctic Circle from Miami. I just went 70 miles north. Less than 3k miles on my CT, it has been in service almost 4 weeks. I am hoping they'll diagnose and fix the issue. Since this is my 3rd Tesla, i know they will find the RCA but its just a luck i guess. Also being so new they dont know a lot either.

Update on my CT service. After 25 days CT being in service center. I did receive a call and talked to Master Technician who worked on my CT. He said they could not reproduce the issue but check all the components of the truck which all components were not faulty. They’ve replaced the ribbon cable that connects from front to back all bus communications. They’ve asked me if they could take the Ct to long road test and ask for permission. It is still in service mode but it is on the road and Thanks to TeslaFi and Tesla App i can track the car. If it passes the test, i am able to pickup my CT tomorrow afternoon. Great news. But they can’t guarantee if i am never gonna have this error again. If it happens, he said they will replace most components.

i can’t wait to get my CT. Pretty happy. I am hoping that ribbon cable was the problem.

Update on mine. Neither the new power conversion system nor the new harness fixed it. They’re consulting with a Tesla engineer now trying to figure out what’s wrong with it
