Because you used that term out of context. There was no unprovoked attack on your character to undermine your argument in the text you responded to.

umm incorrect. They implied that my ability to perform accurate market analysis was laughable even though I had not provided it to them.

Implied, did not actually say.

But you brought it up. Therefore it's not an ad hominem.

Dude, if you think being asked for numbers is an ad hominem, okiedokie. ?‍♀

You made the argument, you said you should be paid for it. You brought it up, not them.

Ah resorting to ad hominems?? a sure sign of a poster with nothing relevant to offer

Agreed on most points.

Keep in mind this KIT is effectively an enclosure not much bigger than the cyberTent (in SF of area) that offers a shower & portable toilet.

There are heated shower boxes like the rinsekit and pop up shower tents. The shower tent could double as a toilet room. You could in theory place that same toilet inside the shower tent and take care of your business. And then toss the bag and store the toilet. It is not bolted down.

All this with a much bigger bed and no hit to range PLUS accommodating the range extender—for about 1/10th the cost!
Sorry, but the Cyberlandr and Cybertent are not really comparable. You're correct in that the square footage is similar, but it has many more advantages than just a built in shower and toilet. Let's explore a few, shall we?

  • Height - you can stand up fully in a Cyberlandr, not so much in the Cybertent.
  • HVAC - it will come with heat and AC powered by the CT's battery along with hard, insulated walls/ceiling. Sure, you could rig something like this up for the Cybertent, but it would cost extra and not be integrated.
  • Setup - the Cyberlandr will expand/collapse at the touch of a button (as far as we know). The Cybertent needs to be setup and aired up manually. I'm sure that will be super fun in the rain, too. Same story for take down at the end of your stay.
  • Built in kitchen with sink, induction range, and fridge - again, you could cobble something together for the Cybertent, but it'll cost extra and, again, not be integrated. You'd likely be setting up a table outside to cook/clean and toting around a portable fridge. I'm not saying that's terrible (I've owned a portable fridge for years), but it's the same as being able to just cook inside whenever you like regardless of weather.
  • Shower - again, Stream It is promising an "endless" recirculating shower with filtration system built into the under bed storage area. Sure, you can bring a shower tent (which you have to setup/takedown separately) and you can even rig up a recirculating shower (e.g. Evershower with in line heater), but it will cost extra and be something you have to cobble together yourself.
  • Built-in solar - the Cyberlandr is supposed to have a solar roof which can not only power itself, but store any excess in the CT's battery. This won't amount to a ton, of course, but it's an advantage over the Cybertent.
  • Starlink - Stream It has mentioned having a Starlink terminal integrated into the Cyberlandr, making it a mobile office that can work pretty much anywhere.
Just to be clear, my intent is not to throw shade at the Cybertent. If I were 15 years younger I'd likely be all over it and would quite enjoy building out a lot of the features above. But I'm at the point where I just want something that works, is easy to setup/takedown, and includes more creature comforts than a tent provides. Which is why I currently have a camper to begin with.

sorry but you continue to reinforce your ignorance on the matter….if you really need me to explain why implying that one’s arguments are not credible (i.e. laughable) due to their inability to perform accurate market analysis without any proof, then I think you are simply unable to grasp the concept.

As I understand it the fatal flaw to this concept has still not been addressed: the extended range battery pack CANNOT be accommodated with this add-on, and with the added weight the range will be utterly useless for long camping trips—which is precisely what this is designed for.

A self powered trailer like Pebble would not only not affect the range, but allow the range extender to be installed—not to mention provide much better accommodations.

hopefully they address this fatal flaw before it’s too late…
I drive across North America several times per year. Senior husband has to pee every couple of hours. So, we charge more frequently than needed. When on the Supercharger highway, they are every 80-100 km. so lots of choices of where to stop and no range anxiety. Some of our areas of travel have zero Superchargers (Newfoundland), so we sometimes are overnight at a slow charger. This Cyberlandr is so perfect for this. We are not camping. If I was camping I would haul a nice travel trailer. I just want a place to sleep for a night or 2, have a shower, use my own washroom, make a cup of coffee, have a warm or cool place to hang out while charging. Sometimes the charging might take 2 or 3 hours, depending on the location of the next charger, sometimes its 6 or 7 hours. Perfect use case. We are not alone. Oh, and, don´t want to haul a trailer, because I am not going on a camping trip. I do not want to drive around with a trailer, nor do I wish to leave a trailer at a camp site, because as I travel about at my destination, I might want to use my "hotel room".

All valid points but if you do the math you could—as you put it—cobble together most of these benefits for about 1/10th of the price and still not lose much range and have room for the range extender.

As I’ve stated from the jump, the issue I have with this Kit is not the benefits but the fact that they did not account for the range extender.
Conversely, my understanding is that the range extender fits below the cybertent.

Arguments made on basic observations or relevant details are not ad hominem.

Pointing out your reputation score is lower than your post count, is an ad hominem.

Pointing out I have a very high one, is false authority.

Asking you to support your own argument is neither. It's normal. Replying that you should sell your service (and get paid) you said you should get paid for, is just banter.

Suggesting one’s ABILITY to do anything is laughable (ie. Not credible) with no evidence is Ad Hominem.

No one said that but you. When asked for the work to prove your argument - you said you even have a truck to test with - you said you should get paid.

They are not supposed to laugh at your joke?

Correct, I don't disagree there. It looks to me like the Cybertent was designed to fit above the range extender and that most of the functionality of the Cyberlandr could be cobbled together much more cheaply, though I struggle to see how that would be 10% the cost (maybe 20%).

The experience, however, would be very different. I don't think many considering something like a Cyberlandr are cross shopping a nice tent and a bunch of disparate equipment that all requires a lot more work to procure, transport, setup, use, and take down. And none of it gives you an HVAC controlled private hard sided area to hang out in (e.g. when the weather isn't cooperating).

With respect, you might be surprised at how many people do not care how much it costs, for the convenience of what it offers.

Do I really have to explain the difference between an ad hominem implication vs an ad hominem statement? Shirley you cannot be serious…

As mentioned I could afford it but would prefer the added range and bigger bed of a cyber tent. If I wanted more convenience I’d get a pebble which would not affect range and still allow use of my bed & range extender.
