might actually be a hack

watch this space
I was thinking that too. Cause if the air comes down the vault all clean then the Y has to chop through it. But if it's chopped up already then gtg.

I don't know the aero lingo lol

Rage detriment present
- Low quality trailer
- Vault open
- AT Tires

Range improvers present
- Warm at 64f
- Slow highway driving 65 top end with stop and go
- Charged halfway through 110 mile tow
- Decent trailer aero

Overall a good test of range and better range numbers than expected based on other range tests. Although the low highway speed and stop and go traffic certainly helped efficiency

Nowhere close to the 250 miles many were hoping for with the announcement of the cybertruck but nice to see someone get north of 100
I guess you have to stop saying 80 now lol

AFAIK, there's not an "extra regenerative braking" option. I believe there's basically a normal an none.

By default, the truck will get extra regeneration, just because it has more mass, and of course it loses it faster as well.

For most vehicles, regenerative braking is about 30% of your power.

How has nobody noticed that the battery is preconditioning to supercharge for nearly the entire trip? That is the reason the motors are so much louder, not the towing load. These efficiency numbers are nearly useless due to this

This is why we need more tests. I just cant wrap my head around the towing range being so low. Hopefully there's more tests done in typical situations with the correct settings on the vehicle. 148Miles towing i would be very pleased with and is what i thought i would be getting with the original 500mile range.

The amount of people who drive with their tailgates down still surprises me to this day. I would have thought everyone would have been informed or this by now.
Bummer... that video seems to have been blocked by Discovery Channel in my area.

Is my math right? If the average is .75kw/mile, and you are using the 20-80% range of the battery (as you might on a supercharger road trip), that gives you about 100 miles useable.
This is basically in line with the other tow test I believe.
So in practice terms you can indeed tow long distances, but for every 100 miles or so, you will have to supercharge about 45 minutes.
Any thoughts or corrections?

Sounds aboout right, except, the charge time for 20% to 80% based on the video below is about 37 min.
