Most of the rich class have their camp drive in, then they meet them via helicopter or airplane.

It's almost freakish watching them come in; helicopters flying in formation and everything. Used to be if you parachuted in, you didn't need a ticket.

One year, I found a good way to see BM for free. I worked for the company that serviced the porta-potties! Got driven around the entire site in an air conditioned truck! Only had to do a little work (and didn't get anything on me!).

I think Elon gets flown in on a jet, landing on the temporary runway they build every year.

Yep! Locals and drivers (and law enforcement) are given access as well, counted in the number allowed by the BLM permit.

Before 2015, drivers weren't counted, since they were expected to go home after dropping off their loads, but big plug and play camps were taking advantage of this by having alot of stuff driven in and sneaking in employees instead of participants. It's since been changed.

I went home, but not after dropping my load - it was to DROP OFF my load! :)

Did you know Black Rock owns a huge ranch that borders on the "desert"? They now own the Fly Geyser and those large ponds just south of the geyser. I do not know why they don't hold the event there and blow off the BLM and Pershing County.

I canā€™t wait to see the official EPA MPGe numbers for various Cybertruck electric motor combinations, battery packs and tire sizes.

The 2023 Dual Motor R1T gets 352 miles of range with the large battery pack and 21ā€ tires. Will the Dual Motor Cybertruck exceed the Rivian R1T?
Rivian has impressive areo.

Rivian says the R1T has a drag coefficient of just 0.30 Cd

imagine what the CT will have, especially with lowest height setting and bed cover šŸ˜Ž
Wishful thinking. Elon actually said he was *hoping* to get to 0.30 which is what the R1T has.
People think you can't make a regular looking truck have decent aero but videos like above show what makes the real difference and separates myths from physics.
Neither help towing distance tho as the trailer height/weight negates it all.

Tesla Cybertruck electric pickup surprises in aerodynamic performance simulation -- 0.39 Cd.

It's not large enough, and a sensitive geological/ecological site. While the fairy shrimp out on the playa are much more easy to avoid damaging during the summer.

Amidst the anticipation and prognostication of the date for the delivery event, it occurs to me that even though people are tired of waiting for the big reveal now, it won't be long now before people are lamenting the "Good old days" of this forum when we had to rely on scraps of information, and piece together scattered evidence like Gumshoes working the big case for that mysterious dame in the hat.

"Cybertruck deliveries start in October"? Well, it is 12 October and the only "deliveries" have been to employees for testing. Us deposit guys have yet to see one. I live in Reno, Nevada, and, you would think, with 8,000 employees at Giga 1, we would see CT's all over the place. I have yet to see a single CT. The Tesla Service/Sales Center two blocks from my house has yet to see one. Lots of Rivians (R1T & R1S). Have yet to see a WT4, though.

Well, we'll know about a month in advance. And the factory just kicked back in after the shutdown.

Knowing it's soon isn't the issue.

Not that anyone should care or that it matters, but my last IMO. BTW, how does one go about "Liking" their own post? ;)

Seems like they'll announce the delivery event before paying customers receive their cyber beer, and all fan boys and girls will be able to enjoy their cyber stein during the hand off while the rest of us wish we had ordered hahaha. I'm wagering that the delivery event will be less than a week before Thanksgiving, just in time for it to be holiday conversation/buzz.

the ā€œdeliveryā€ event being discussed will be only insider ā€œsalesā€ to a handful of employees and VIPs

retail deliveries, to normal customers, wonā€™t occur at that event - but would instead occur sometime weeks (or months) after.

so, you donā€™t see CTs in Reno because Reno isnā€™t Fremont or Austin - where the vehicles are being driven not by employees who have taken delivery, but by employees involved in product testing (or who are otherwise ā€˜helpingā€™ to log miles on the vehicles).

Wait, hold up.

Are you joking that October is your birthday month in 2024? That October is your birthday month any year? You canā€™t wait until October 2024? That there will be a CyberTruck release event? That there will be a CT release event in your birthday month? Or that there will be an Oct 2024 CT Release event? Iā€™m confused,
