This whole thread makes me question whom to trust, including myself
Jokes apart - I can see arguments from both sides. If someone really wants to fabricate false narratives, it doesnāt take much to loosen the door and take the video. In past when people have posted videos, severe cross examination has happened on that as well, meanwhile I can also see why omitting several key information while reporting a serious issue like this one can make someone really question the plausibility of the story. After all, when we have seen court cases such as Johnny-Amber defamation trial, where stories can be fabricated in the court room, itās no surprise that these type of anonymous posts will get heavily scrutinized, especially for a product thatās as polarizing as CT.
So, one sincere request I do have is for owners to post as much information as possible when they report a very severe issue like this. Whatever you post will be debated and contemplated for something as serious as door falling off. We live in a world where itās hard to take things on face value. Probably one day we can have AI plugins that can be the Sherlock Holmes on these forums and attach a āconfidence or authenticityā number based on all the information presented!

Itās definitely a fact that early adopters will see issues, but at the same time itās important to see how many people are having the issues. Scale and context are very important. Given that this is the only door failure case I have heard in last 8 months, Iām going to let it slide, even if itās a valid issue. To err is human. 1 issue out of 20K+ vehicles delivered is a very low odd. No child or adult has been injured so far because CT door flew off. I remember one of the Model Y roof flew off when it was released. No such incident happened after that. Numbers donāt lie, people knowingly or unknowingly do. CT might have early adopter issues but based on overall stats I have seen, the number is on par with most other vehicles, if not lower. No person has been fatally injured or severely harmed because of a manufacturing defect. Itāll be all over the news for several months if that happened!
