I’m starting to worry they won’t have the wiper solved in time for production.
I get no one wants to wait another five years for them to figure out the laser beams idea. But that thing is ugly yes.
My question: has anyone done a schematic to see how much coverage one wiper has on the windscreen? If this wiper leaves the passenger with half a view in the rain, that kind of annoyance would kill a normal car’s sales.
I haven't, but I have full confidence that a Tesla engineer or two has. I'd be willing to bet $69,420 that the Cybertruck will not ship with a wiper that only cleans half the windshield.

Not to rain on the pessimists parade, but none of these photos were taken at night while hunting deer, or people for sport, therefore there is no reason for the lightbar to be turned on in any of them. Unless you are trying to blind the photographer.

Just because it's not turned on doesn't mean it's gone.
Your lightbulbs don't disappear when you turn them off either.

Man that wiper ruins this thing. The mirrors are worse but they are removable so no issue. As for the wiper, put it in the dang hood!!!
Putting the wiper at the top of the hood or hidden under the top of the hood creates more aerodynamic drag. The vertically oriented BAW (Big Ass Wiper) helps the Cybertruck be more aerodynamic and increases range.

In 2019 figured Cd 0.33 with a best case Cd 0.30
Elon reckons CT Cd 0.30
?The Cybertruck surely isn’t a McLaren and doesn’t even try to be one.
Tesla wants the Cybertruck to be lowest Cd possible for a usable pickup not for McLaren type top speed but for best highway range.

Range!! The thing all ICErs say is impossible to get with EV pickup truck.

I am really not happy about this look . The truck´s front end appears too aggressive as if the design flow was abandoned from the end of the frunk. I hope they come up with a better idea…

Come up with a better idea? Lol. You know production is starting this summer right? And the front pretty much hasn't changed since unveil.

Agressive, cyberpunk, dystopian future, that is the design flow.

What part of the look specifically bothers you? I think the front looks great.

If you're hoping for a more traditional pickup look, I suggest the f150 lightning.

Whether they have a frunk, or not, they need access to that space: wiper fluid, bio defense filter, suspension access, 12v battery, etc.
Would be sick if it did like an up and out to sit pointing straight up and brought the front of the frunk with it like the lightning.

Then people could hang out in there and complain about the wiper.

Seems like every angle you take the Cybertruck from gives a different impression of size/ shape.

There does seem to be a bit of heightening to this shot. Maybe illusion based on camera angles. Those weird angles play havoc with the mind. Hopefully it’ll get me out of a speeding ticket some day.
Yep, look at the photos of this Alpha prototype that were taken at the same location and time.

I'm curious about the wiper. Will it be telescoping? I noticed on the picture below the wiper is much shorter.

No, that was never a telescoping wiper it was simply missing the upper part as it is two pieces (at least on the Alpha prototype pictured that was the case).

Nope, I'm anal retentive about design but the wiper is the thing that bothers me the least when comparing this to the original Cybertruck.

Agreed, the front and rear bumpers are the main let down when compared to the original one. Not only do they have worse clearance but they look way worse.

The CT looks mostly amazing still. I still think those triangle side mirrors are totally out of line. They tried to get cute where they didn't need to. Even the shape of any of the other models would have been better. It's just too much. We get it, the truck is triangular. Why not make triangle wheel covers as well
Agreed, the mirrors on the Alpha proto looked better and were more functional too, aero is a b*tch.

Look at the frunk lines?! The Wiper?!
I like how the panel gaps on driver's side give away that the grille opens with the hood for frunk access. The wiper base bends in the arm show the clearance the hood requires.
My guess is the hood moves forward as it opens and like the falcon wing doors on x the grille area becomes a bit of a roof.
I do like the frailgate idea too. The drl would then become the overhead light if it opens with the hood.

I wouldn't read into that much, you're always going to have a gap between the front quarter fender panel and the front fascia.
