Can we not? With the politics? This is a truck forum.

this isn’t the place to weasel in your personal beliefs. Take it somewhere else.

Keep the the hair brained conjecture and dumb wishlists of features.

No one cares how you vote, who you support, or don't....

This is not a political forum.

You know, I'm so glad I never paid any attention of what Establishment 'statistics', 'studies', 'polls' or 'data' would tell me I was likely limited to be, because if I did I'd be a really depressed and discouraged person.

Also, with today's 'establishment' credibility, you have to actually multiply their integrity by about 0.05 in many situations if you want to be realistic, because many of them lie so so much.

Elon was also told what he would not be able to do, by many establishment naysayers all through the years, and if he'd have listened to them we would not have the Tesla we have today, no Cybertruck, no SpaceX, nor this forum. That timeline would've truly sucked.

The very essence of challenge in life is aspiring to beat the odds, because we have to put more faith in our self. Learning from failures or bad events is one thing, but dwelling on them only keeps one from looking forward.

You know the cops are 'the establishment' not the people counting how laws are misused, right?

Anyhow, I was just replying to the point about inconsistent application of laws. Laws that are inconsistently applied are easily turned against the less fortunate

It's not political until you're asked to do something about it.

Why be upset about my point, and not the prior one?

The size looks large enough to move in. Perhaps it would work as an ADU. I could camp out of the back and let someone else rent the frunk for their own living space.

Too much of this picture doesn’t pass the smell test. I want it be the trunk open but I’m seeing what to see. Hopefully we will get a more definitive view soon.
Are you a canine / werewolf of some sort? I admit the picture looks to be taken by a potato cam. But it still looks to be far enough off that I don't really smell anything.

The previous post said they the laws are poorly applied based on what you do. You said it's because of what paint job you had when you are born. You should be able to understand the difference, and why that may agitate someone.

"Paint job". Really! Things get paint jobs which usually can also get changed in color.

People don't have paint job and they have no choice.

Yes, it is a proven fact that laws that are not specific enough or are purposely selectively enforced are frequently used by authorities to harm those they do not like.

It is not politics. It is power dynamics. It could be done by right or left.

It is common way power has been misused for thousands of years in human society. Most other animals don't seem to do this (picking on weak just for their fun).

Are you kidding? Baby birds will kick the other chicks out of the nest to get more worms.

I'm not going to get into any of this shit. I'm saying there is a massive difference between saying cops will pick on you if you do something wrong, and saying they will pick on you for your color. Islick doesn't feel like and doesn't want to be treated like a victim. I don't think any of us should tell him he is.

The U.S. has 334 million people with many of them in 3000 cities and towns (of population 10,000 people or more). Attempting to make generalizations about organizations or people really is meaningless, because there will always be the human factors in each locality and they will vary widely and diversely. Even for populations of 100,000 or over, the U.S. has over 300 different cities.

Every place is a little different, and so there will always be shining examples of integrity as well as corrupt bad apples. We will always have unfair or bad examples sometimes to look out for, and I do believe you know of real examples even though you can't really discuss them specifically here.

But my point was about not letting the incidence of those things deter our motivation looking forward, because life will at times treat us all unfairly. I wasn't trying to address your point specifically (that's why I didn't quote you) but instead I was just trying to add broader perspective because the tone was seeming to get a little pessimistic. But, I'll re-read the posts further back in the thread again to be sure there wasn't something I missed.

We all have our stories and experiences (sometimes bad ones). I just don't think we should project general negative trends from the media or internet onto others, because again each location is different and things happening hundreds or thousands of miles away, likely may not even apply in their area. I don't think we should take the worst examples out there and repaint them broadly to everyone and every locale of participants on this forum (actually that's what the media tries to do), because I don't think it would be accurate to do so.

I do think you are genuine in your examples, but I'm not sure they would apply broadly or equally to everyone on this forum or to their location, considering it's reach.

Yes, they do but that is competition for survival not just for their jollies.

Yes, SOME cops pick on some people just because of the color of the person's skin.
It is a fact that this does still happen today and it has been happening in U.S. and Canada for hundreds of years.

Just because it is unpleasant to hear about does not make it false.

Weirdly, I didn't. Let's go back to the quote:

Such as 'driving while brown', or looking too poor to fight the tickets.
So, here we have 'such as' saying that one common thread of people pulled over for such things is because they're brown. In fact, I list a second reason as well. Which should imply there are other reasons. Not just the one. "You should be able to understand the difference, and why that may agitate someone."

No, I don't understand you are so upset that this observation exists.

I have owned five cars and one motorcycle in my thirty odd years of driving. Of them, three were used when I got them, but only one was painted matte black with primer. I have an autism spectrum diagnosis, so I am exceedingly specific about how I drive. I did not drive the primer-black car differently.

Guess which car was pulled over more than the rest combined? I'll give you a hint: Excepting the car that was a lemon, all my cars have garnered the same exact total of moving violations.
