Given the rapid expansion of Tesla's Supercharger network in the 4+ years since 11/2019 Cyertruck event, and benefits of 4680 yet to be achieved as discussed in Battery Day event, I am in the "highly doubtful" camp for a significant increase in battery cell count in the Cybertruck--anytime soon.

Expanded Supercharger network and V4 charging hardware can accomplish some of what more batteries can. Ignores towing.....

Driving dynamics, tire wear, braking, etc. will suffer significantly with a doubling of battery pack weight. Adding an additional approx 1,600 pounds of battery cells would require a significant re-engineering of the Cybertruck--to the point the current iteration would be known as "Cybertruck Light" or "mini."

I'm all for more range....given it comes from engineering as discussed during Battery Day.

All true and correct, but one thing you missed.
The CyberTRUCK can tow things with a more respectable battery pack, the current range of 90 miles is not towing, there are a lot of superchargers but not THAT many, and very few with pull throughs. They made a truck, they need to make it do Truck things now that the celebs have gotten their show vehicle.

I don’t think Wes’ “Half full” comment is 100% confirmation. Could just be a playful response to Whole Mars’ “Half empty” post…
Wes is a smart guy, fits in well with the Tesla culture, and would have everything to lose and nothing to gain by trolling truck buyers and stockholders. You can tell the gravity and reality of it by the reactions of the usual Tesla commenting folks.

Wes confirmed it was "half full"
? ?
Calling a "half full" reply to a "pack half empty" comment as confirmation instead of just a figure of speech is equivalent of calling Elon confirming space thrusters by posting fart? lol

Are you familiar with Tesla? :)

It was pretty obvious once the pack size being half of what it could be, no sense in building it that way and reducing head height in the cab unless you are planning to increase capacity.
The statemen from Wes was just additional, 500+ mile CT is coming.

half of what it could be
You got dimensions or any other measurements besides "half empty half full" metaphors to back that up?
You sound like a high school teen who just got asked to the prom.... ? I'm afraid you might be up for a bit of disappointment

Ugh! I don’t know what’s more frustrating - speculating what Wes said or knowing that CT 2.0 will have 500+ mile range. The only way to settle this is to be assured that CT range will stay the same for many years, and that’s also equally frustrating. Today is a rough day my friends! ?

Built in the space for it, and Wes confirmed it was "half full" other. Not going to get much more confirmation than that out of Tesla, but it is coming.
i read it as he’s just doing a bit… glass half empty vs half full NOT saying it’s only half full and they have plans to fill it.

One thing for sure: reaction on X and on this thread confirms that even big Tesla / CT fans (me included fwiw) overwhelmingly agree Tesla shortchanged the range on CT! The $100k+ price tag for it is just salt in the proverbial wound. I hope Elon is taking note.

No way there is room for a second row.
That is 50mm tops. The 4680 battery is 80mm tall.
It is just an airgap for..?? Keep your feet from getting hot? Protect batteries in case you hit the brakes and your acme anvil falls off the back seat?

..Not to say they couldn't make a new pack with extra height to accommodate a second row. Another nice benefit of the floor/pack construction - can easily swap out per Munroe's recent video.

Ohh yeah, no disagreement about that, range sucks! Also sucks calling "half full" figure of speech as "500 - 640 miles confirmation" ? ?
