I thought of this just today. If a BIW (body in white) is the cheapest option for paint just have a dozen different color wraps that they can install before delivery. Question is, is in-house production or at least installation of wraps cheaper and faster than paint? Right now they’re say 5-7 days to have your wrap put on. I’d say not yet, paint might be more expensive, but it’s faster for now.I agree with you. Tesla is always looking for a new way to do things. Which really makes me wonder (insert Led Zeppelin background music here), what are the chances that the CT and the 3/Y options to wrap the car are a indication they are thinking this is the way to go? Meaning, Tesla doesn't paint ANY car, and if you want color, it's a wrap job. Could this be a view of the future? Your car can change colors every few years. Wrap material is bound to improve and eventually become virtually permanent. Is paint becoming so yesterday?
I think the Cybertruck range levels that were originally reserved will not be available exactly as announced, so the original pricing will also not line up exactly with what Tesla originally announced. Also, four years of inflation will probably add $5K-$8K to prices that could be in addition to some smaller adjustments for features that were not originally anticipated.
but dont forget that 350 mile range has a usage connected with it....Say 425 to 525 kWh.......you be charging all the time....wont be able to road trip or go to the boonies for camping.....$79k for 350 mile range and ~ 475 avg kWh usage is a no-go for me, periodWhat makes you think CT will use plaid motors? We've seen no confirmation of this Maybe 1 variant will.
A big battery pack is expensive but once again, that was already considered at unveil. Plus rumors say highest range right now will be in the 300s. Which likely wouldn't require a much bigger pack.
Plus, if the battery day stats are to be believed, batteries are getting cheaper.
V2G hasn't been confirmed either. If anything Elon has said no multiple times.
And normal plugs in the bed were already considered at unveil.
Oh yea 79k for 350 is a hard sell. But for me if it has amazing performance specs then it's easier to swallow. But dual motor at that price is a non starterbut dont forget that 350 mile range has a usage connected with it....Say 425 to 525 kWh.......you be charging all the time....wont be able to road trip or go to the boonies for camping.....$79k for 350 mile range and ~ 475 avg kWh usage is a no-go for me, period
agreed...plus, the distance from the drivers seat to the front edge of the hood does not allow for a very good field of vision......Oh yea 79k for 350 is a hard sell. But for me if it has amazing performance specs then it's easier to swallow. But dual motor at that price is a non starter
What the heck are you babbling about? The Cybertruck will have best in class visibility over the front of the downward sloping hood. You will be much less likely to run over things like children and short adults who are obscured by a big masculine looking front grill and flat hood on existing 1/2-ton trucks, gas or electric.agreed...plus, the distance from the drivers seat to the front edge of the hood does not allow for a very good field of vision......
I dont think so......but we will see pretty soon.....and I think I was pretty clear in what I said....dont think I was babbling at allWhat the heck are you babbling about? I was hoping this wouldn't be neccessary. But sadly it really is.I dont think so......but we will see pretty soon.....and I think I was pretty clear in what I said....dont think I was babbling at all
yep I have....2016 Toyota Tacoma Long Bed, extra cab TRD Sport........the driver is the CT is going to be sitting a lot further back and the field of vision is going to be greatly affected but the angleI was hoping this wouldn't be neccessary. But sadly it really is.
OK, which do you think obscures things in front of the truck more:

Have you ever even owned and driven a traditional full-sized pickup? I'm guessing no.
I don't particularly like a truck that puts cargo space in front of the view of the road. That just seems stupid.Too big?? For people that don’t actually need a truck I guess it is
Fuck no.For “Dual Motor” reservation holders only.
We are just over a month away from the official pricing announcement for the Cybertruck trim levels.
If a standard battery pack Dual Motor Cybertruck MSRP’s for $79,900 are you still following through with your purchase?

Maybe 30% to $65kImagine the Elon memes with a prospective 60% price increase.
I expect 10-20% price increase
