On mine, if it comes with the triangular mirrors they will be immediately removed. The previous style of mirrors were far superior not only in appearance, but also for rear visibility.

On mine, if it comes with triangular, square, pentagon, hexagon, heptagon, duodecadon, round or any other shape they will be immediately removed with a crowbar. No hesitation. Not fuckin' around here, I got no patience for a mirror where I have a perfectly good camera.

We must keep the upper blade light, fog lights and all other lights. As many lights as possible.

Otherwise, how else can I communicate with an Alien Spaceship in the outback?

Standard upper blade lights. I can only assume this means above windshield.
Look at the date, considering how off the cuff his tweeting is I would not put any faith in forward facing comments made three years ago about product features to still hold true today.

I like having the best of both worlds, because while camera and interior displays are a great supplement to vision, mirrors provide instant depth perception by giving a slightly different reflected image to left and right eyes, whereas current camera displays cannot.

There are also far and near sight issues where eyes focus through mirrors, but focus on, displays.

Even Tesla mimics this depth perception in their stereo cameras at the top of the windshield, but those cameras don't connect to interior displays and instead connect to the car's computer (for depth perception). We're likely to see more of this in Hardware 4.0.

I don't mind mirrors in general, but I won't put up with ones that are both ugly and less functional.

The roof apex mounted lights would be cool, but here in Australia are likely to be a windscreen bug magnet, as the light is above where you look out the windscreen. If you don't have bugs, like in winter, its not bad if the light distribution is nice an uniform without hotspots.

Overall I find high mounted lights better for seeing things laying on the ground, but if they are really bright, switching from high to low leaves you virtually blind for a few seconds while your eye adjust. I prefer my driving lights low for this reason, as they tend to light up further away (low angle of incidence) and are not as bright directly around the vehicle itself, and highlight things standing on the road instead. It also means the bugs have less time to launch off the ground when they see you coming as the cold blooded suckers like sitting on the warm tarmac in summer. A high mounted light gets them all excited before you get there, and then they all come with for the trip and crust up your windscreen so bad, that even a BAW can't wipe it no more.

Not sure if the roof mounted lights have high and low beams, but if they did it might be nice for the switch from high or low to fade in slightly instead of being instant. Who knows, maybe they'll have a kind of variable adjustment like some European headlights do.

But for the main or primary headlights I'd want the high/low beams switch to be instant, because reaction time is even more important at night and one cannot react to what they do not yet see.

Yes those pesky buggers are in the states too, and I've also noticed them seemingly excited in the high beams at times. Too bad we haven't invented real invisible force fields or deflector shields yet, because they would be perfectly useful keeping the bugs off.

Actually thinking about bugs and the windscreen some more, I think the low angle might help a bit with bug splatter, in that if there is a bit of air flow some bugs might just bounce off instead. Generally the more aerodynamic a vehicle is the longer the bug splatter is.

It would be good to have something more substantial to deflect bugs, maybe some sort of controlled air jets to deflect them would work. But probably simpler would be a super smooth glass surface, or a hydrophobic surface would work as well.

Here's the inside one...

This is what the Cybertruck was being set up for by the lighting crew.

You know, I'm going to put this out there. When watching the first "The lighting guy is getting fired" video "leak", I didn't even notice the BAW. I mean, it was there clearly in the video but it seems more low-profile than in the past and better integrated in the A-pillar hiding spot.

Makes sense where you never, ever have to drive on salted roads... the cameras on the MY (and my F-150) become almost useless at times. Mirrors save the day.

(It's 7 degrees here... feels like -5... so I'm a little salty)

That's false, there is no significant amount of stereo depth perception at distances greater than about 5 feet. Human eyes are too close together (less than 3 inches seperation) for this to be a factor beyond a few feet. Depth perception at distances greater than that is synthetically generated by the brain using various clues like vanishing points of straight lines, shadows and haze and the relative sizes of various objects. That's why you can percieve depth even on a flat screen TV.

It's a smart decision for Tesla. Look at the current market for great AI engineers, where else is a greater place to recruit. Engineers will jump ship to work for the best company for the future, all other so call tech company will belly up eventually, not all survive. On the other hand, I am glad Elon gave many hints to keep us exciting about the CT.
