Did the CT save the Corolla from flying off the mountain? Maybe the CT was driving down Skyline, corolla driving up. Corolla hit the embankment, then sharp turn into the the other lane hitting the CT, saving the corolla from driving off the mountain

The CHP report says what happened. Take the time to read it. The Toyota came over the line. The Cybertruck doesn’t appear to have much damage. The Toyota will be totaled. The key thing is being able to walk away, which they did.

I guess people don't have to worry about a flimsy charge port cover.....
Now I'm* worried about the wheel arch trim. ?

*I was one of those worried that the chargeport door would be the fragile point when off-roading. ? ?

FWIW, contrary to the post’s title this isn’t the first Cybertruck crash - just the only one that made it to the ‘news’

I think this was Toyota’s attempt prove not only do they have the best battery technology, coming right around the corner, but they have the toughest car too;)

Glad everyone walked away from this simulation

If the accident happened near 35 and 84 then it is heavily wooded on either side so even if either car had gone off the highway they wouldn't have gone far.

$TSLA stock is reacting poorly to the news that people can crash into a CyberTruck without being killed. Elon told us that the CyberTruck would WIN in any collision. How can you consider it a win if your opponent survived?!? ?

Found this on Reddit a few minutes ago, looks like a head on with a smaller car. No photos of the damage on the Cybertruck, but the car looks worse for wear.

The CHP summary of the accident: "On December 28, 2023 at approximately 2:05 pm, CHP Redwood City units were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on SR-35 (Skyline Boulevard), south of Page Mill Road. Our preliminary investigation indicates a Toyota Corolla was traveling south on SR-35 southbound, south of Page Mill Road, at an unknown speed, when the driver, for unknown reasons, turned to the right and subsequently struck a dirt embankment on the right shoulder. The Toyota then re-entered the roadway, crossed over the double yellow lines into the northbound lane, and crashed into a Tesla Cybertruck traveling north on SR-35 northbound. The Tesla driver sustained a suspected minor injury and declined medical transportation. No other injuries were reported. It does not appear that the Tesla Cybertruck was being operated in autonomous mode. The investigation into this incident is ongoing."

Looks like the charge port may have survived the whole ordeal  ?
