It kinda does seem to be the next logical step, as well as cybercar, cyberclatbed, cybervan, these things are going to sell so well!
Exactly!! For some reason Sandy Munro said that CT would be the only SS vehicle they'd produce but I don't remember why he thought so.

As far as CSUV goes, they just have to figure out how to get an acceptable Cd with its shape and it'll be a hit.

One thing Munro appears to be overlooking is the real reason for the mass production stainless steel vehicles: To reduce the per-unit cost of the raw metal for the purpose of reducing the manufacturing cost of the SpaceX Starship and boosters.

Everything Elon does is with Mars in the forefront of his mind - everything. If something doesn't make sense here on Earth, ask how it would benefit the goal of colonizing Mars and you'll find the logic.

People need to think about and understand why the Cybertruck is the way it is before they start doing mock ups of 100 different follow up vehicles. The Cybertruck was more or less created to make manufacturing a truck easier and cheaper. Making other vehicles that look like the Cybertruck might well not be the easiest/ cheapest way to make them. I'm particularly skeptical about the van which has really long panels.

Looks like the Cybertruck has that angle covered single-handedly.

If there is a pass through, where does the rolling box cover get stored?

The vault cover will roll up in the floor.

Tesla Cybertruck Folding rear seats (& center seat) confirmed in new Cybertruck patent! Points to possible pass through? 21qbk9njfp171

Making a pass-thru viable with the vault either open or closed will be an engineering challenge.

It passes through the mid-gate. So if you have something through the gate, the cover is either stuck closed or open. Just like if something is sticking through the garage door.

I think the local stainless steel mill was a byproduct of CT and spacex. Tesla didn't make the CT to entice the factory. They may have sited Giga Austin for efficiency.

Elon loves the material properties and wanted to make a revolutionary truck. I think that is about it.

I find it astounding that NASA overlooked stainless in the first place. Personally I am not a fan of Mars colonization. I think we need to be focusing on the asteroid belt, mining, and commercialization of space. Most of the tech will transfer so it doesn't really matter now.

Like the CT, it will have to be function follows form. I'm sure Tesla will have a lot of lessons and innovations coming out of CT manufacturing that it makes sense to further expand the SS line-up.

Something that hasn't been raised is that Elon talked about stretch-forming for the Starship nosecone. I can see this as a manufacturing technology moving into Tesla products in order to reap the advantages of SS while maintaining beautiful shapes and curves that we're accustomed to today. He quickly indicates that this method cannot be employed for a car but I think he's referring to the intricate internal sub-structures in a unibody.

In the meantime, APC manufactures are able to at least make the hull into a monocoque in spite of the long straight lines:

The stainless is double the cost of carbon steel. And the 3mm plate is 3x the weight. So it’s 6x more expensive just for the material and don’t go to the big what about the rockets. Elon buys a lot of both and is getting deals on both. I think this stainless exoskeleton is going to be an eye opener for Tesla and not as simplifying in production and magical as it was made to seem. I think they are still going to have stamped interior body parts that the panels attach to. I think in the end they are going to realize it’s way more expensive to do this stainless idea and that’s why Munro is betting that this will be their one and only stainless vehicle. It just doesn’t make financial sense and it’s a sales pitch just like the dramatic look of the truck. If the CT wasn’t stainless it would be about 25% less cool. Let’s see how repairing those stainless panels goes for simple accidents and see how we all like the stainless then.
