Frunk liner -engineering question / observation

Removed the frunk liner (big plastic tub under the hood) to reveal some interesting engineering. Now, this is an early build (17xx), so there’s that… Here’s what I found: the 2 upper bolt mounts have taped on washers that seem to be acting as “shims”. They are taped in place and fill the gap between the mount and the liner. Wondering if this is a one off or is this how they are all coming off the line. See images. Thoughts?

Reminds me of the plastic wood-grain corner moulding Tesla was using in early Model Y builds to secure the heat pumps, haha!! (Not my picture)

I was bummed because my 2020 MY had the corner moulding, but it wasn't wood-grain, haha!!

But you know what? Four years & 61,000 miles later and it's holding up great!!

My guess is that is a something a service center did pre delivery, so probably a one off.

I had to take my apart and I’ve noticed the same two washers and black tape. I bet they are all same vin 4700 range

Low 6000ish vin here but yeah, probably a lot of early builds have this type of character. I think we need a thread with all of the ‘custom’ and ‘hand crafted’ evidence for our early builds. You’ll never see this character once Optimus takes over. I also found hand cut holes in the giga casting from a kid who must have had the instructions “here’s a saw-zall, make a hole the suspension can fit through. At least it has the green mark of quality assurance?
