Easily scheduled mobile service through the app thanks to this thread. "My new Fold7 is overheating when using the wireless charger, I understand there is a new updated part to fix this" that was what I wrote.
Thanks, let me give those wording a shot and see. I even had a back and forth with the service general manager there and what he wanted to do was sell me the parts as he claims that he has some write that the new parts barely makes a change to the overheating."insignficant improvement" he claims. This service center is the worst. My truck keeps having to go back.

I did it this morning. Didn't speak to anyone, system automatically confirmed my appointment for next week.

You can go to a different service center. Sometimes that’s the path of least resistance despite more distance.

I found this site with technical details about the Wireless Charger:

https://device.report/manual/12220530

It includes links to other documents, such as test reports. That got me what I really wanted: photos of the guts!

Tesla Cybertruck HARDWARE FIX for hot phone charging issue! New wireless charger has a built-in heatsink Screenshot 2025-09-18 at 11.52.41 AM

Seems like there are only 2 overlapping coils per phone, aligned to the outside edge. The iPhone seems to have its coil right in the center, so I'll try to determine how these coils line up.

Is there a particular post on this thread on how to get the mobile service? I'm always directed to choose a service center.

Upgraded to an iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Posted this video on YouTube with an update to my previous video on converting my CyberTruck charging pad to a MagSafe set up. That set up needed some hardware changes in order to work with a iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Got an iPhone 17 Pro Max, and I was hoping the iPhone new cooling system may help. Nope. Still overheats like crazy. Wireless charger unusable. I hope there’s eventually a fix. Could Tesla enable lower charging rate to prevent overheating? I’m ok with slow charging vs overheating constantly and not getting any charge in. Probably wishful thinking.

I just got an Iphone Air and I'll try that when I get home to my truck next week. I still think the lack of a vent blowing on the charger area is the problem.

I can confirm that the iPhone Air charges on the revised Tesla charger. This is without a case.

It gets warm but not scorching. Tapping on the screen while charging shows the iPhone considers it a 'slow charger'.

Is this new charger a free thing that Tesla is paying for?
It was for me, they sent mobile service to my house for free and swapped it on site, but it sounds like some service centers are refusing to do it.

Here’s my update. I went to the SC for my Terrestrial Armor Install and added this to the service. They changed it out to the latest revision with no questions asked. They actually diagnosed it as not working too. It definitely is working now.

I have an IPhone 16 ProMax in a MagSafe case, it always overheated, never charged. The newer part seems to have fixed it for me. It now continues to charge, it has not overheated (yet). It does charge very slow, but is actually charging now, so I’m taking that as a win. I also have an aftermarket silicone charger insert (had this since nearly new, and it had overheated with this too). With this, and the phone case, it is charging and has not shut down for over heating. Fingers crossed for now, but so far, so good at least for me with this new part change. See screen shot from the Tesla app on the repair.

Anyone have a Pixel or other Android phone that doesn’t overheat? I have an iPhone 15 Pro. Thinking about switching anyways. My battery life is terrible.

I have the new charger version, it didn’t improve anything for iphone16pro and iphone17pro. iOS26 report low charging.

I believe the issue is that the camera bump lifts the phone and creates a large air gap. I think charging might improve if Tesla put an indent at the top of the charging surface for the camera bump. This would allow the phone charge coils to sit closer to the charging coils.

I added a silicone cover to the charging area, and it has cut down on the phone heating. But it charges very slowly.
